I don't think that they have been properly checked out. We are in a bit different situation though since they cannot simply come pouring over our borders.

I have no idea what you are talking about when you talk about the outcry of all these rapes. If by outcry you mean the victim...I am not doubting the victim at all. I am talking about the people in this country attributing the assaults as something that all Muslims participate in. This is ignorant. You realize that in the US there are roughly 300,000 sexual assaults per year. That is almost 1,000 per day. Perhaps other countries should ban us from travelling because we are all rapists.

Yes, your position is one based in fear and bigotry. I made light of no rape. I used one as an example to show your stereotyping, but apparently that flew right by.

As a liberal, bringing up the porous US border isn't your best bet.

Agreed! We need a fence so none of us can leave after the economy crashes again.

Well played. I guess you do make a good point. Closing the border is probably wasted money. When the economy grinds us into a 3rd world country, people won't want to come anyway. :)

I am not strictly a liberal. I have viewpoints that are both liberal and conservative depending on the issue. As to my reference to the border... I meant that there is not much that these countries in Europe can do to stop the influx short of having the military shoot some of the hoards of refugees attempting to cross. We, on the other hand, have a vast bodies of water between us and the refugees.

Not to mention, the culture is completely different. Refugees poured into Germany and Sweden specifically because those countries give the most free stuff. But the countries just weren't prepared for such a huge influx, especially Germany... so now we have a ton of refugees living in close proximity to each other in squalor. Not a good formula.

I'm not at all opposed to admitting a reasonable number of refugees, but they have to be screened and dispersed in such a way that they assimilate more effectively than their European counterparts. Pretty much every aspect of Germany's strategy needs to be scrapped, from the large numbers of refugees to the homogenous enclaves.

The point being that walls are just as likely to be used to hold Americans in as it is to keep others out. Wouldn't be the first time in history.

Can't keep Americans in #1 and #2 if our economy has tanked to that point the rest of the worlds is even worse.

Economics aren't the only reason to leave. Tyranny is always a possibility. Either way it's important to not that a wall is just as effective at keeping people in as it is at keeping people out. Berlin being a great example.

Walls only limit our freedom.

I agree we don't need a wall. We just need to make it not worth it to come here illegally.

Since when are we required to extend constitutional protection of rights to non-citizens?

If you cannot see what's happened to Europe since the Muslim invasion then you're clearly blinded by your own naive everyone-is-good ideology.

Islam is a cancer to western ideology, an ideology that has created free and prosperous societies. Point me to an Islamic nation that is largely free and prosperous for all, not just the select few oligarchy. At one time, you might be able to point to a Turkey, but that is because of all of the middle Eastern countries, it was the most Westernized.

Here's an article for all the little muslim Mr. Helpers....

Refugee centre life: German worker's story of harassment | World | News | Daily Express

But....but....the women and children

"Some from an Arab region recently yelled at a colleague of mine: 'We decapitate you!'.

"Because of these and other things, the police were called to us several times a week."

She said she has also been horrified by refugees attitudes towards women.

She said: "It is well known that it is mainly single men who come here - about 65 per cent, many less than 25-years-old.
