U.S. Navy sailors and boats seized by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps

Peaceful would've been towing us back to safe waters. Ransacking our boat isn't peaceful

We got our people back. Perhaps they did go through the boats, but the biggest thing is this didn't turn into a nightmare hostage situation.

Be thankful for the little things.

Why didnt the second boat tow the disabled one?

if what others were saying were true about them not able to carry extra fuel I doubt they could have towed another boat their size. also they may have been trying to fix the problem first before resorting to towing. and if they were going to be operating at the edge of their operational capacity towing another boat would cut that way down and they would be in the same situation again later on.

Three things I would like to see answered
1. did they call for help? (some have implied this may be more difficult than I imagine)
2. What was the response to said call for help, or what did the chain of command do when they figured they lost two boats?
3. Which side made first contact after the boats were seized?

You sum up the 0bama admin so well. It's just US taxpayer dollars that were destroyed so be thankful

How about a tow? How about not holding our soldiers for 24 hours and putting them through mental anguish? How about not stealing US taxpayer dollars ?

So they should have towed them after dark through the fairly congested Persian Gulf? And after they wandered into Iranian waters.

And waiting until daybreak was acceptable to transfer them back. The situation was over in less than 24 hours so I'm not entirely sure how much "anguish" they were put through.

And they stole taxpayers dollars? Did I miss the part in the article where they kept the boats? Nope, they sent them back as well.

You want to be outraged, do it over something that's worthy of such attention. Otherwise, you can call up your Congressman and demand immediate punitive raids to teach those dirty Iranians a lesson! I'm not the person you need to be tangling with on this as I've made my point quite clear throughout this thread that nothing short of releasing those men and women immediately and unconditionally was acceptable. Which is what happened. Nobody was injured, we didn't have to go in and get them and we both were allowed to walk away from the incident.

Yea they should've towed them. The Navy operates at night. Saying they can't operate at night is insulting them. Yes these troops went through mental anguish. In case you haven't noticed "feelings" is something that the Obama administration takes very seriously. They werent released at dawn, they were released hours later. Taking pictures of them and posting them on the social media and making the woman wear a hijab is absurd

Okay, I'll just sum up your outrage as "petty" and leave it at that.

You really should pick a better subject to be angry about.

Call your congressman and tell him to propose a declaration of war.

Remember Beirut? I'm sure you were just as hard on Reagan about his response.

I think you should study Beirut a little more as I discussed before.

You shouldn't go tossing around examples that don't fit nor ones you haven't the first clue what you're talking about.

I grew up in DC. I have friends in the navy who work in the Pentagon. They are the ones outraged. You are insulting them.

Ransacking US taxpayer dollars, causing mental anguish for soldiers, posting pictures of them on social media, and making the woman wear a hijab is ridiculous

I woke up to find out that American Service members had basically been captured for political and propaganda reasons. And this isn't a good look either.
Rev Guards say American crew released after apology was received from the US & reassurances given for the trespassing not to happen again.

Wtf. You are right. There is no comparison because a bunch of marines died

So we are less than 24 hours into this, but you've already had the time to contact Navy members that work in the Pentagon and discuss the incident. And found out just how angered they are over it?

Sounds a bit fishy to me.
