I think we saw our fair share of the "pre-vent" defense in the second half of the fourth quarter when Chavis was here before. I don't know if he has learned anything since then. To me, the players he had made him look much better than he really was.

Doc Holliday is the HC at Marshall. Heater is the DC and was the/a DC on the Florida national champ teams under Meyer.

If Dave Aranda hadn't already gotten paid like he did I would have been calling for him! Great coach!

Wonder if the bad calls on 4th down this year were a sore spot between them? We would have had 2 more wins if those had gone our way......

All the smoke coming from Knoxville in the fallout is saying that this will be "an under the radar hire".

Take from that what you will, but it doesn't give me the warm and fuzzies going into a critical 2016 year.

Given the way Butch operates, I'd bet he already had a name or two in his back pocket, maybe even a signature, before he sat down with cjj. Butch knew there is no dead period for recruiting staff.

That is what I said earlier, but sure hope I am wrong!!

Jones likes to get guys he already knows and is comfortable with. He DOES NOT like to go outside his comfort zone very much. My guess is he would hire someone he has coached against or with or knew or was an assistant under. He will not offer $1 mill or 800K for a DC, I would be floored if he did

I am just not that impressed with his body of work. PSU was in no way a defensive power house this year and none of his previous ds were anything more than average even at vandy . Why do you think he is such a great upgrade? I think since you are such a fan you should tout all his positives .

Yeah, some of the rumors that were coming out mid-season were that Butch was displeased with Jancek being more candid and speaking "off script" in interviews, etc. Violating that CBJ "comfort zone".

I look for it to be a young, impressionable candidate that will stick to the script and echo everything that CBJ says. Someone that Butch can control, if we want to get right at the heart of the matter. I'm not sure who it is at this point, but I really don't look for it to be a homerun hire at least by our standards and the names being bantered around.
