'16 AZ DE Jonathan Kongbo UT Signee 2/3/16

It's not condescending, it's reality. It's human nature. It's the world. Don't be such an idiot. No one ever said, 'ALL' black people, but 'SOME' parents, yes it does matter. All of you damn liberals are just alike. You are oblivious to the real world.

You don't know anything about me or my political views. And I don't assume to know yours based off of a few Internet comments. But apparently you do enjoy generalizations and putting people into boxes.

But it is condescending to suggest that we should send our new coach to an in home visit with Kongbo on the basis of his race alone. It's condescending to coach Scott as well as the Kongbo family.

That's my only point. I'm not debating that having a diverse staff isn't important to players or their families.

"Narrow it Down". A strange choice of words about a recruit who is already committed somewhere.. smh. 247 can be annoying. I guess they have to be. Bias is what subscribers want.

The piece and title are misleading. The "narrowing it down" is in reference to him deciding where he will take his last available OV to. The Washington guy that wrote this though seems to not even know he is committed to us so it isn't surprising he would spin it like this.

If you don't think it matters to some parents that there is a black 'father' type figure coaching their sons, you are delusional.

Well should we send Gillespie too? Gotta make sure they know we have more than one black coach on the team /s

Smh.

Ok, let me explain this in elementary terms. There ARE indeed some black parents that relate to black coaches better, and if he is the family guy, caring type, that they portray him as then yes, it would be a wise move to send him there in case that helps with the recruiting. Are you saying it would hurt the recruiting?? Your closed minded views limit you to being able to think outside the box, pal. Sending your son from Canada to TN is very stressful for some parents and they get nervous because their baby is going thousands of miles away, so MAYBE she might relate to Scott and feel very comfortable with him being a 'father' figure while he is off at school. Get over it and open your eyes to the really real world. In recruiting you are catering to the parents as well as the kids, if not more. It's a smart move. I'm just thankful that you are not in charge of recruiting.

Are you saying it is mandatory to respect it, or that he has the write not to through freedom of speech by saying be respectful? Seems contradictory.

Everyone has the "write" to say what he or she pleases. Period.

However, this is a privately owned message board, so Freak can moderate it how he sees fit.

Folks have the right to say what they please. Decent folks have the judgment and decency to avoid being needlessly hurtful or disrespectful. It's not so difficult.
