The official is a bigger POS

Kids career ends on a hit that was clearly shoulder to chest

Bs call

It makes me so angry watching these calls. It is clear the officials do not know how to call it. I can sit at home and say that is not targeting and listen to both commentators cite multiple reasons why it isn't targeting, yet the refs uphold the call after watching the review multiple times. I knew they would uphold it even though it wasn't the correct call.

As a future physician, I definitely do not want to see players get hurt. But, as a former player, it infuriates me the way they blow these calls. Football is a brutal sport and guys are gonna get hurt, even on clean hits. They knew that when they signed up.

Good post.

No idea why we have a replay when it clearly doesn't work for targeting. An ejection and a game suspension is so much over the top for a play like you day no one knows what really is targeting

The previous enforcement was subjectively applied and based upon "intent to punish". It appears common sense has little to do with current enforcement. The media portrayal of head trauma in football has made this issue a subject for scrutiny. It is not going away and is diminishing my interest in the sport.

Try them as adults and place them all on the Sex Offender Registry. The light sentence they receive won't fit the crime but, having to explain that you're a sex offender to everyone you come in contact with for the rest of their lives will be as close to justice as that kid will receive.

That poor kid won't forget it, nor should his attackers.

I think someone needs to pull the rule and look at it. I am saying this because I don't know it exactly either. I got frustrated at some calls after it was implemented, too. But my understanding (and maybe it's the NFL), but there are times when the player is deemed defenseless, and any tough hit at the shoulder or above will be called. Doesn't matter if it's not with the crown of the helmet or a "clean hit." Unfortunately, it's getting to where you have to let the guy take a step.
