JRM said he will not think about the draft until after the bowl game. Anything up until then is about Northwestern

My worry here is that in hindsight 2 of those closest to him from that LB room in AJ and Maggitt would have had no issues being drafted if they came out early. does he look at end result of those 2 or understand that his situation is different?

AJ most certainly was raising his stock and looked smart by coming back until he put himself in a terrible situation off field.

Maggitt made the best decision at the time to come back then suffers injury. If he didn't get hurt it would have paid off but he did.

JRM should come back and would benefit from coming back. I wouldn't blame him if he chose otherwise to avoid risk.

I think another season would make him a top tier nfl prospect.

I would think we'd see more recruiting news or leaks in general if they were leaning toward going. I think Bowl may have small impact on final grades.

AJ definitely improved his stock, until the incident.
Maggitt has been injury prone his whole career.
JRM could improve his stock and be apart of something special. I don't think JRM would put himself in AJ's situation. As a fan, I want him back, but I would understand if he left early. However, if he did improve his stock, it could make the difference in a few million for his rookie contract. I guess it also depends on other circumstances, such as, family, education, etc...

When we get the hurt players back our team will look much different in a good way. Some very talented players kept out of action this year due to injury. If we can have a healthy spring and bring most people back, sky is the limit for '16.

Couple notes:

I do not see Sheriron transferring and many in the program believe he will be a serious talent for us. He's the fastest QB on roster and has serious arm strength. This will be an interesting battle for backup qb this offseason.

Darrell Taylor is someone I've been hearing will be a player next year as a LB with opportunities to play some downs as a rush end

D Miller and Micah are progressing very nicely at CB and have gained considerable muscle weight.

We have two very talented RB's behind Hurd. Both still need time in weight room but from a depth perspective, the talent drop off will be minimal, especially when CFA is enrolled and gets in the weight room.

Griffin is coming along at safety and we should have two ball hawking safeties, which we haven't had in awhile, considering our current safeties are better run stoppers than coverage guys (although they have improved).

This team is improving at a rate that started out slow and at times felt stagnant but has now gotten to the point of rapid improvement. Butch has finally created an atmosphere and environment that breeds success. Now when new players come into the system, the acclimation process is much smoother and therefore these guys are more quickly ready to contribute on the field whereas in years past, butch had the difficult task of also acclimating the Dooley players to this system. It's only going to get better from here on out. 2016 was always the year that was circled on the trajectory map for true success, so enjoy it, because it will be the beginning of a long stretch of success for Tennessee football.

This is the goods!

Can someone make sure we bump this post @ Sept 1, 2016?

Do I understand the draft info the kids get back from the NfL?

Only 3 possibilities

1) 1st round
2) 2nd round
3) 3rd round or later

FootballScoop named their Coach of the Year award finalists. A couple of former UT coaches are on there

QB Darin Hinshaw
RB Jay Graham

Any chance Hinshaw might be a target for QB coach?

Can I have a copy of this?

I actually was hunting around for potential coaching options and bumped into Hinshaw by looking up team rankings and seeing who the coach is. It's weird what a small world coaching really is.

Gaulden practiced today for the first time since fall camp. Won't be playing in the bowl game, but that's great news regardless. He'll be 100% for spring practice.

Put that kid on ice till game 1 in 2016. He unfortunately seems to have a penchant for getting hurt.
