Titans will botch it and the secondary is a glaring need right now. I wouldn't hate it if they still suck in 2016 and go that route, but the secondary is too much of a liability to pass on two early 1st round guys right now when they will have an opportunity to pick one up.

lol - that is so true. Agree on the secondary. I just see this as a 3+ year turn. Would like to see them invest in a solid long term O that protects the franchise QB more. But they will find a way to mess it all up.

Yep. There IS light at the end of the tunnel with Mariota, though. It took the Panthers 5 years to get there with Cam. I think the Titans can take a similar route.

It all hinges on who they hire at HC and, so long as the front office stays in tact, I'm not extremely confident they'll make a good decision.

They need a tackle, guard, and center this year, IMO, unless they think Bell is good enough at LG.

The best scenario IMO would be to trade back and parlay that #2 pick into a RT and a DB, because there are a ton of good corners and safeties this year. Otherwise, you take Laremy Tunsil #2 overall, which is probably a reach.

I'd prefer to see them get a veteran C like they did with Mawae.

Day 2 focus should be on LB and WR, IMO, with maybe taking a flyer on a RB late in the 6th or 7th rounds.

If you look at Jacksonville, they're loaded with young talent at the offense skill positions, but they don't win because they have **** on the OL and defense. Meanwhile, New England plugs in whatever scrub RB they want behind their OL and can't be stopped.

Then in 2017 you've got Chubb, Hurd, Fournette, Cook, and Perine all eligible to come out and all safer picks than Henry, and they'll be running behind a better OL.

Good point on the 2017 RB's. I personally think Bell is good enough. As you know I agree on trading back. I just want Henry by the second round if available. They could wait a year as you suggest if they are going for Hurd or Fournette - which is who I would want. No doubt - the secondary stinks.

HC hire is crucial for the Titans.

They need FAs to want to come here. All that hinges on that hire.

Should be an attractive FA choice. No state income tax. Nashville/Brentwood/Franklin is one of the best areas in the nation to relocate to.

The coach (philosophy) will dictate the future of the Titans.

OL needs help but I believe it's better to improve that area through FA. Especially with a mobile QB. They need playmakers. Big, fast receivers and a work horse RB.

Definitely need secondary help. Another area I would focus through FA

For the star gazers, with Blakely being a 4 star, we have an average star rating of 3.56 on rivals per commit. That's puts us at tied for 6th in the rankings.

They had a long conversation and it was noted by the announcers that they were long time friend and Butch was pushing for him to get the NT job. Get your crap straight before making fun of others when in fact you are the one with the idiot comment.

15 yard penalty for joke over head and unsportsmanlike conduct. Forgot I was not in the FF when I read the comment

Reading the first paragraph I was like, whoa, wave it off, wave it off.

Then I read the second. Whew. Man, gotta be careful with the bad jokes in here. :)

Eric Berry is a FA in the upcoming off season...just sayin.

Edit: He'll never make it to FA but, hey, a guy can dream, right?

I agree coach is a big big deal. If they jump for Kelly or worse trade their #1 then Titans will be forever dead. No one wants to play for him.

Haha I love how Greeny is convinced they have a great defense. When you play that sorry schedule any defense will look great.

We played two of the top 3 NCAA QBs. While one torched us (Johnson) we didn't have our co-DC in the box. And we pretty well dominated Mayfield for 3 quarters (sigh)

North Texas Mean Green Official Athletic Site

We supposedly interviewed the former North Texas interim coach for the QB job according to a poster on 247. I know he is supposed to be tight with Butch. He was Phillip Rivers QB coach at NC State. Pretty good resume.

I wouldn't be surprised if Butch interviewed his buddy just to get his name floating out there and help him get another job somewhere else. I still think Sheridan gets the job.

Ok so I asked a star gazer question of this forum and was accused of not contributing. Which is fair. I am not a subscriber so it is hard for me to add much but here is my research and rationalization of this year.

Our AvG rank with a smaller class puts us behind only UGA in the east.

UF has a huge huge class but it's overall less talented.

We are missing one 5 star. Everyone else in the top has one and I'd like our Drew Richmond for this class. Recent defections and available spots indicate we could.

We have the best QB which is a large part of any battle.

I feel better not that anyone cares or agrees.
