I agree, it seems like people would be taking major advantage otherwise. I guess the question would be; at what point is an injury serious enough be considered season-ending and qualify for a medical red-shirt?

My wife passed 1 month before our 23rd Anniversary. My daughter had just started her senior year of High School. That is the big reason why it was 15 months before I really fell apart. I had to be strong for her. After graduation she did not immediately start college. She said she wasn't ready to go yet. She waited until January to start instead of August. The day I moved her into the dorm, when I got home and was the only one there, I lost it.

I survived it, but I'm not sure how strong I was. Things could have been a lot worse I suppose, But I got pretty bad for a while.

Listen, this kid was the most underrated recruit on roster. He has the quality these other guys lack, mental toughness. If you have to teach an O-lineman to be mean, you in trouble.

I heard on Doc, Jeff, and Heather that he still had a scholarship and the plan was for him to enroll in January.

Man bless you BB its testimonials like this that helps others. My prayers are with you and yhat God comforts your heart as she would have in your time of need. I lost my sister when she was 12 and i was an 18 yr old college football player. I went awol tried it again when i cane bk home to TSU and just quit after punching and coaching an assistant coach for a bad joke about my mom. Then i found my purpose. Just know Hod will isolate you to ekevate you. Stay strong my friend.

I know you've taken a lot of crap on here recently for your tone. There are those, myself included, that appreciate your info.

What's the current view of the staff as it relates to recruiting and football camps around the region? As fans, we're the first to go off the cliff and say it's the end of the world. What are players and high school coaches thinking?

We all like to yell "Butch stones!" And all then when we get a commit, but there's a lot that goes into it. Have we lost an edge because of how little some players are being utilized and the way we've lost games?

Knew we shared this story...didn't know your details. My daughter was a sophomore at the time her mother passed away...February 18...her 44th birthday was on the 2nd. Katie's a great student and basically ghostwalked it through the rest of the school year. I can't imagine thinking of college mixed in with her therapy...or being in an empty house. You're a strong man. Always respected you as a veteran and person, this only added to it.

Good stories guys. I lost my sister before my senior season. Things like that change you forever. But, God is good All the time. God is good. Even after losses to Florida. 😄

Our stories are very close man. My wife was 42 and my daughters name is also Katy.

Too bad folks in FF can't understand what really matters. Sure we all get upset or aggravated over a couple of blown games. Sure we don't like play calling or coaching decisions. But it just really doesn't matter. It's a game played by kids. The above stories along with Zach's are real life in action. They are what matters. Enjoy football and sports, but LOVE your family while you can. Never take the next breath for granted. Not promised to get it.
