Okay, seriously. WTF is going on with Butch's face? It's either completely purple or broken out like a 14-year-old boy or both. He looked like **** in his press conference from today.

Didn't he say he has gained 15 lbs. since his hiring three years ago, too?

Stressful job.

Tennessee special teams coordinator and tight ends coach Mark Elder has been hired as the head coach at Eastern Kentucky, according to an early Tuesday morning report from WTVQ-TV in Lexington, Ky.

- 247 (Rucker)

looks like the last ecu coach was paid around 238k including base plus bonuses.
elder makes 225k i think, so definitely not for the money

funny, western ky pays 400k, is it because they are division 1? i thought eku was going to the big leagues or was trying to

Brohm makes 600k in base.

Eku is going to pay much much less.

I have heard Martinez is probably also leaving for Miami. Coach Z still possibility for Maryland.

Kind of surprising that Martinez would go work for Richt again, considering he fired him just a few years back...but good for Martinez.

I don't know enough about coaches to have a qualified opinion on the subject but, if the consensus about Z is true, could be addition by subtraction....

Richt didn't want to fire him, hand was forced from those above him. Was seen at the time as him being loyal to a fault again and someone had to step in and save him from himself. Or so the story goes.

Does elder take anyone with him as he builds his staff?

At that level I would say GAs/QC and other non fulltime staff and players would be possible. Very very unlikely any fulltime coach would go as it would be significant pay loss.

This is a FCS school

No sir. That's not correct here is the only response to your op before the one I posted

Man, I feel like you might have reading comprehension issues.

My last post on the subject because other posters are annoyed.

I already had reviewed what we all said.

I mentioned he might get a promotion.

Another poster brings up him getting a raise bc teams aren't going to hire him as an OC (first mention of OCs, period)

I respond and say "don't assume someone at a lower level wouldn't make him an OC" (see? That's called a "response" to someone. You could, apparently now, say "don't assume someone at a lower level wouldn't make him a HC)

Then you chime in with money talk and away we went with that discussion.

I had no idea what kind of promotion he'd get. I only got a statement from someone loosely associated with the program. Never tried to insinuate anything cause I didn't know anything. The OC talk came from someone else saying he wouldn't be considered for that position and I responded.

Unfortunately, this shouldn't have been so hard to see. But bruin gon bruin.

You gave him everything he wanted. :)

Nice backtrack in approach

You were the first poster that suggested a Lower level OC job which was the entire point here. You Might want to go back and edit a post or 2 since you are now backtracking

Lol
