That's easy to say, but hell you can also point at him being way older than berry... Year 2 of college, give me berry

Gonna jump into this convo just a bit. Remember CP literally just ran one back this weekend in the league. I hope Berry makes a squad in the league based on return ability alone.

Yup. Also ran one back about three weeks ago.

Plus, this straight-line speed:

I think CP is actually faster than the 40 he posted at the Combine. He definitely seems like a sub 4.4 guy, and his acceleration/change of direction/body control are all absolutely elite.

Berry excels with vision and tough running, but you need more than that in the NFL. I mean, he's fast as hell too, but I think CP has the edge in athleticism.

Just a thought for slow times till the bowl game...

Here is a pitch I would make to JRM. I feel his position with the highest ceiling in the NFL is SS. With Randolph gone next year, let JRM know you would like to move him back to SS so he can showcase his skills there and help elevate his draft status at a position he is better fit to play in the NFL. Design and workout program specifically designed for this transition which would focus on leaning him up, increasing his speed(solid 4.5 of better), and elevating his cover skills. Of course, the other pitch is the possibility of playing for an SEC and NC championship as well. However, the sale of increasing his draft status and increased revenue would be the clincher.

Since we have some good young players coming up the coaches feel good about at the LB positions, this would be an alternative to help keep a great leader and player with the team next year while also helping his future as well.

As for the other safeties on the roster, let the chips fall where they may.

Discuss amongst yourselves...

He's getting buzz as a second/third round pick at OLB this year. I'm not sure trying to sell him on switching positions for his last season is a good sales pitch. He's a bit of a tweener when it comes to his measurables. There's a lot to lose and little to gain by putting him in a new position and having him play deep coverage.

Guys it's okay for a Dooley recruit to be better at something than a Jones recruit.

CP can do on offense what he did in KO. Not sure Berry is capable of doing the same on offense. Would love to see 29 with that opportunity though!

Berry is elite. CP was just elitier.

I think this is fantastic.... 😂

@VolRumorMill: Henceforth, Northwestern shall be referred to as Purple Vandy.

I love Berrys game and excited to see him develop and become even better but to say he's better than CP is crazy.

CP scored TDs 4 ways: KR, PR, Rush, and Pass Rec at UT on a Dooley team.

CP is an elite athlete.

Lol, if you can produce on a Dooley team, you can produce anywhere. 😂

? We are talking about Kick returns.
Nothing to do with Dooley. I'd take Bray, Hunter, and Patterson over anyone Jones has recruited at that position. Not to mention the oline.

Liked how he "Prime Timed" it...down 35-7. :)

The offense was never a problem on Dooley teams for the most part.. Berry could be Antonio Callaway but we don't use him

Yes on Hunter and CP. Would take Dobbs over Bray all day, especially in this offense. Give me 1,000 fewer total yards but way more 3rd down conversions and a defense that has to account for the QB running on every offensive snap.

Ok I see now. What CP did as a WR and running reverses has influenced your opinion on who the better returner is. CP was amazing on offense in college.

CP: 26 average a return with 1 td
Berry: 38.5 with 3
Seems like a no brainer.

I'd rather have Da'rick.

Dobbs in this offense or Bray in Chaney offense?

I would take Bray in a more pass friendly offense. Yes he is really dumb. Dobbs for Jones' offense no doubt though
