Are people going crazy because they think Oklahoma is a 8-5 football team?

I'm assuming you missed that post like 3 above yours with the definition of confirmation bias

Anyway, so yeah...missed field goals...that was literally the only thing that happened in those games that led to us losing...only single thing. Not a myriad of different things at all

I can say this though, if I did convince myself of that, it sure would make me feel better about those losses. Unfortunately I'm smarter than that so...brain won't let me
Yet you blame one specific player for losses. Yep...you are pretty evolved.

We all have our opinions on why we blew those games. Mine is that we lack competitive depth on the dl due to youth and injuries. We got tired late. Coaches get blamed for going vanilla. Perhaps they saw this shortcoming and decided to try and use clock. Then add the fg misses to extend leads even with vanilla playcalling and boom. I still think that if we were deeper on dl, we win those games.

I didn't blame one player. I noted that it was one of the myriad of things that could have changed the game. Like it says in the post you quoted. "Myriad"

And even if I were that naive, I still wouldn't blame Colton Jumper. He had no business being out on the football field in those games and that isn't his fault.

Jumper missed important FGs in games vs Oklahoma and Florida? Odd. I thought that was someone else.

Perhaps you missed the Jumper penalties which led to 3rd down conversions and points for Oklahoma? How about Florida's opening drive for a TD that went right over/past Jumper?

It is interesting to look back at all this.

So Butch said, "BGSU explosive, NFL QB," and he was right.

So Butch said, "OK top 5," and he was right.

The dude clearly knows NFL and championship level talent when he sees it.

So Butch said, "We're building something special here," and "We're gonna win championships." ... Woot! Someone strap Wylo down, he's not gonna like this one! :)

But, but Jones didn't win it his first year so he never will...:eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol:

You mean to tell us that a college football player made a mistake in a game? Unheard of!!!

Apparently it's unheard of for a coach to make a mistake as well.........cause we know that never happens anywhere else!

It's a shame that our players and coaches aren't like KB who never makes any mistakes. I mean he nailed it when talking about how bad OU is. He is a brilliant football analyst.

You say all that about evaluating talent, but this year playing Colton Jumper...and then sticking with him for some number of games may have literally lost us two football games

And then I believe chance Hall and Jack Jones were upgrades on the offensive line, but it took injury to see them.

Last year the Worley injury saved our season.

So I'm not so sure.

You must be one of the coaches to know so well that Kirkland, Hall and Jones were ready to play at the start. No other way to know they weren't out of conditioning, dealing with injuries, or already knew our defensive plays.

That's the thing.....and it is just plain outright hindsight and arm chair talk.

Bynum is and was always better than Jumper. I have a hard time believing Kirkland wasn't either. You don't have to be a coach to see that. That pathetic insult is getting old.

Maybe Jumper was playing... because of his daddy. Maybe Jones was pressured to play him because of Hart, Cheek or the UT President. Who knows....point is that somebody, somewhere made a critical mistake.

Jones and Hall may also not have been ready at the beginning of the season, but they sure as hell were when thrown into the fire against great competition. The question is...how long before that were they ready? We don't know because it took injuries to find out. Again, I don't know, you don't know...but they were good when they played....so the questions remains.

The best gator on this board leave him alone...everyone makes the same evaluations and insights...

Eh, not everyone...

There are many people who are quantifiable and objectively wrong. Those are the ones that make the loudest noises when forced to confront, and to attempt to reconcile, how wrong they are.

tl;dr

Just because a bunch of people are wrong together, doesn't make them more right.
