Our secondary need elite players it is weakest position on the field

Outside of TKJ and Sutton every position in secondary was suspect. The next decent player was Martin who is raw but has a hellova upside. So they do really need to sure up that back end pronto. Also if Martinez leaves they need to get Terry Fair back here from Colorado St and make it an unrefuseable offer.

Martin is anything but just decent. Secondary play was 3 times better when he became a starter as teams couldn't pick on Moseley anymore

Man it's not like I'm making it up. His name is Chris Kirschner. Just passing along his take. Don't shoot the messenger.

Sorry i didnt mean it that way. I was questioning his info, not questioning you for passing it along. Just saying he is probably a dawg homer. Sorry it came across as attacking you.

Martin needs to work on his run support/tackling but you'll notice the drop in over the top deep passes completed when he became the starter.

If Martinez goes to the U and replacing him with Fair would help us sign Warrior and his cousin next year, I certainly wouldn't be opposed to it.

Martin has been a significant upgrade opposite Sutton. There's a reason the pass rush has time to get there. Even versus Bama they had time to get to Coker 5 times.

And Terry Fair isn't the only dude that can coach DBs out there. Our secondary improved the moment Martin was inserted into the lineup. Abernathy going into his second year and Foreman will bolster the CBs. Gaulden remaining healthy will be big also. I think the athletes on the back end will be fine.

Will be interesting to see if Gaulden can reclaim the NB position or if he gets moved to safety.

Competition 😁😁😁😁 Group will improve big time next season. Jennings at safety will create even more competition. People questioning the talent are crazy. WR has more pressing needs than the secondary.

Do you think JJ to safety is a done deal, especially with WR being somewhat lackluster?

I'd like to see JJ at safety and Evan Berry at slot receiver. I have an admittedly low football IQ, but those two really look better suited for those positions to me.

Totally agree here. It would be hard for him to say no anyways but you make it damn near impossible for him to.

I disagree......

How u prove me wrong and pull up stats at uf and uga and Oklahoma. How bout u just pull up stats how many times moseley and foreman got burned for 20 yards or more. I'm just speaking from what I saw. Just curious what you feel was the weakest link. I know u spend alot time breaking down teams stats and stuff

I disagree that there's not elite talent on the backend.

Bb I believe we have solid but not elite talent at every position in secondary. Better with Martin at corner. My problems have been with nickel and corner opposite of sutton. Do u think it scheme or play calling. For example at Vandy game they were on our 20 and we had one safety covering the entire back end and qb missed wide open receiver for touchdown as he they to an out route or something. I mean I agree there are times I'm scratching my head.....

Coaching, coaching, coaching.

I'm no expert for sure but when defenses are in zone why don't the find soft spots and sit down on the route I can't tell you how many times I saw them get do close thst they took there cushion away and didn't even have to make the defender do much

The receivers are so poorly coached.

They can't beat press, they don't find those soft spots as you say. They don't fight for the ball, they don't time the jumps well, actually they don't high point the ball at all. They have pretty good hands and block exceptional.... But we're talking about he only legitimate position that cans stretch the field not extra tight ends.

It's amazing we scored so manny points this year with Azzani coaching WRs.

You know it really hit home when ridley went way up on jump ball type situation and came down hard fighting to get the ball it was a wow did u see that type of play and I thought about our receivers. And frankly they are just as talented maybe some even more so they just look so lack luster. Like a 57 chevy instead of a porsche. They don't look quick or electric. They don't look like elite play makers and I know they have the talent

Pearson and smith both had grest grabs in uga game that's all that really stick out to me. They just don't play fast quick and aggressive
