I have no desire to venture into this rabbit hole because we're talking about politicians, who are typically self-serving, low character people. We could likely find objectionable associations for most all of them - we already know this. Ultimately that leads us to personal rankings of these associations so, yes, it comes down to personal opinions (right where I started).

There are multiple examples of bad associations. I happen to find assoaciations with pastors who feel gays should be executed a wee less palatable than associations with a racist pastor; you guys apparently feel the opposite. That's okay. We're all entitled to our opinions.

Being in a swing state like you are you might have to hold your nose and vote for someone who you may not truly like. Even if Cruz wanted to or believed in persecuting gays (I don't think for a minute he does) he could never do it. So you might end up having to ask yourself who will be better for the country Hillary/Bernie or Cruz.

If it were between Hillary or Cruz, I would probably stay home. I cannot see myself voting for neither one for dog catcher much less POTUS.

Discussing the possibility of either one of these two being POTUS show how terrible our political system is.

That holding your nose and vote for the lesser of the two evils has finally caught up. We cannot continue doing that and expect to prosper as a nation.

I detest politicians. This next election is guaranteed to offer only poor choices. The only candidates I find even remotely likable (politics aside) are Sanders and Carson. That doesn't mean I want either as president.

Someone is going to be POTUS. I'm not a Cruz fan either but I'd pull the leaver for him over anyone running on the Dem side.

I can't do it. It's beyond nose-holding for me to vote for someone who doesn't like/hates people like me and *might* want me dead. Not that it matters but the same applies to Huckabee.

There is a huge problem with that. It's like not playing defense because the other team's offense sucks. If you don't play, they will score. You MUST choose a side, and like Rush said:

You can choose a ready guide
In some celestial voice
If you choose not to decide
You still have made a choice

Huckabee is a joke.

I'll be glad when (if ever) social issues like homosexuality, abortion and others are non issues in elections and we can concentrate on our real problems.

I can vote 3rd party. I voted for Gary Johnson last election and would do so again if i had it to do over. I do not have to vote for the pos loser the GOP or Dems nominate. They need to nominate better candidates. When America stops voting party line we will be a better country.

Reading that Trump says CNN has to pay him $5 million to come to the debate. He's going to donate it to charity, wounded veterans, but sheesz, what an ego this guy has!

I admire and respect you gcb. Not only the hate group you mentioned Cruz has excitingly accepted the endorsement of a couple of others.

I can not hold my nose and vote for who I consider to be a terrible option either.

These elections often come down to what we see as the lesser of two evils. It doesn't mean we fully support or even like the candidate, it sometimes comes down to which stink is less ghastly.

Do you sincerely believe Cruz would be a better president or do you hate the Clinton's and would vote for anyone running against Hillary in the general?

Imo, both would be terrible.
