Florida Bowls don't want the Gators. They spend no freaking money. UF may get one, but it will not be because any of the Florida want them.
You don't think UF would bring revenue to the city? You're selling UF brand short if you think otherwise. This isn't some crap bowl game in Jax.
As for UM game...If Orlando feels UF won't sell seats for a bowl game its no way they commit to the reported 4 year host deal bc of possible lost revenue.
This all day. They barely sold 7k of their 18k tickets for their Sugar Bowl appearance in 2013 with an 11-1 team, and we're expected to believe that more will go watch that putrid cesspool of an offense? Bowls are about money and butts in seats, and that fan base is notorious for neither. UT/Mich bowl would sell out within the hour.
How does UF bring more money to the city than Tennessee or LSU? Bowls have obligations to their host cities. Out-of-state schools would sell way, way more hotel rooms and do way more touristy stuff than a bunch of near locals.
What would a UF-UM home and home have to do with Orlando?
I think the point HG is making is there is talk of a 4-game series between Miami & Florida, with the games to be played in Orlando. They have already committed to opening the 2019 season.
As a result, Orlando is looking at those games collectively as being more valuable than if a UT, LSU, etc., was to play in one of the Citrus Bowl games.
If this isn't what HG is saying, then he's on his own...LOL.
FWIW Deerpark says Citrus not realistic.
Citrus or outback are both great options for us
Now I am basing all that off that tweet from the Bowl.
I thought it went off SEC record which UF will have two SEC losses after Sat.
That would open it up for us if it's only SEC record.
I also think Outback makes most sense.
Yep. Nice to have this discussion two years in a row, too.
Finish off the season with a nice winning streak, the first nine-win season in a decade and head into next season with a highly motivated, talented, and seasoned roster that's primed for a run at the SECCG.
Boomage.
