A point can be made, though maybe not convincingly, that Randolph's play on the last UGA pass cost Richt his job (likely), and saved Butch's (somewhat less likely.) Oh, game of inches.

In other news, a Gamecock fan I am friends with on FB, has been reduced to comforting the legions of Cocks with this gem. "So the best Clemson team in the last 35 years is only 5 points better than the worst USCe team in the last 15 years. Ok, gotcha." :eek:lol:

Whatever helps you sleep, sunshine.

Volatil's almost got me convinced of turf. But then last time he convinced me of something, it didn't turn out.

JJ...what???

@PatMurrayWBIR: The #Vols ran the same play 25 times for 191 yards and 3 TDs vs. Vandy. See it here:

Bunch and co. did the same thing at Cincinnati. Ran same plays on a consistent basis, reversing formations sometimes.

I remember when Coach Jones was hired someone made a video of his offensive philosophy. Cinci v vandy in a bowl game that had the same play several times. Good stuff.

Must've noticed Vandy always calling the strength to the strong side and over pursuing consistently.

Counter = #1 play to beat an aggressive defense. Linebackers have to read cross read QB/RB then find their opposite side Guard. Those TEs/H backs are starting to become the #1 read because they'll lead you to the ball 80% of the time

Just watched the post game presser from last night - def got the impression from JRM and Sutton's comments that last night was not their last game in Neyland. Tifwiw, I think they will both be back.

Watching New England Patriots win and listening to Colingsworth gush in his enduring manlove for them is football at its worst.

I can't believe how much of a pass the media gives them after several different cheating scandals over several years.

The "legacy" is be beyond tarnished. Any mention of their achievements will have an asterisk. Any comparison of Brady to Manning will have the cheating mentioned.

Any comparison will also show Brady's 11 win record vs. Manning's 5. It will also show what is ultimately the only thing that matters when it comes to "the greatest QB of all time debate": Super Bowl wins, of which Brady has many more.

Got it. Terry Bradshaw is as good as Joe Montana and better than Brady. Cause super bowl.

Peyton is one of the greatest, Brady is also, so is Marino, so is Montana, so is Elway. They were/are all a nightmare to play against. Since it is a TEAM game, the argument about who is the greatest, is really impossible to confirm. The Super Bowl argument is stupid to me. Bradshaw sucked, his team was awesome. Marino never won a SB, but he was as great as any of these guys.

I've calmed down a lot on Butch. I was 100% onboard with him before the season, hated his guts after Arkansas, and am about 85-90% back after the 6 out of 7 win streak to end the season.

His lack of a killer instinct in games worries me, and I'm afraid he will continue to have it until he gets over the hump and feels like he has actually proven something/himself as an elite SEC coach.

Which means we need a dominating win over either UF or Bama next year to the point where it isn't even close in the 4th and they have no shot of coming back.

I think that's a possibility vs UF, but the streak always finds ways to stay alive year after year, so who knows.

My thinking with Butch is that he was the right man at the right time for the job. He may never get us to a national championship level, though I believe he can, but I will always hold him and his staff in high regard for the work they put in to bring us back. UT was a place that no one really wanted to be at because of the work it would take to get them back to elite status. But, if this job was open right now, with the talent coming in, it would be a top 2 job on the market this year.

I hope he is the guy but if he's not, someone will really want this job after he is through. In my view Butch is the man and I truly hope he can get the accolades he deserves for the work he puts in. No one outworks him.

Dang in the last week VN has ridiculed nearly every announcer including costas and ward. Who's next?

I draw the line in the sand. If Vince Scully is demeaned I am bringing hell with my fury

I'll be honest. Deerpark's 0% chance on field turf comment has me a little down this morning only because I don't see them figuring out this grass. Hopefully I'm wrong.

He also said this morning he was stopping short in saying the grounds crew was being let go

It's so easy, especially at UT. We have a fleet of grass engineers already on campus. Average competence from our AD could easily get us there.

Ward as in John Ward? If yes, who the hell could say a single negative thing about him? He's the GOAT in my opinion. If no, still see above comment :eek:lol:
