Recruiting Forum Football Talk XXII

I knew they were but aren't hosting a playoff game so I didn't know how that would effect things.

It's one of the New Years 6, I believe they call it. In years it doesn't host a playoff game, it will still be a matchup the playoff committee sets up between at large teams.

Well OK. Brick by brick slow bamboo growth progress. Its the coaches' ideal. And we are seeing it in ultra high definition. What a group of play makers on the Tennessee team. Of course there were too many close losses. Football is a little bit different than basketball where one can just quickly plug in talent and make a run. There is more of a learning curve around what it takes to win. The Vols are definitely on that curve. I attribute the losses to development on the o-line and in the secondary much more than to play calling. But these position groups are coming along too. Here we go: bowl game, recruiting close, spring practice, off season challenges and bingo August is here before you know it in what seems like a gazillion years.

If I'm les, I'm finding another job ASAP and letting the AD have it on the way out.

And tha AD makes some of our recent ADs Look ok

I said this to my wife earlier this week when everything was getting out. I would have made sure that was my last game for lsu no matter what. That was an atrociously botched PR.

Think our special teams should be just as good next year. Berry back there returning kicks and Sutton/Kamara bringing back punts

So which BI0 team to Capital One? MSU to playoff. Iowa to Rose. OSU probably Sugar? So that leaves Michigan maybe vs Florida. Vols vs Wisconsin in Outback?

As long as Stripling, O&D Coordinators, Gillispie, and probably Elder are kept I'm cool.

I would prefer it if we could lose Azzani for Tee and maybe Mahoney so that Debord could be OC/OL and then we could hire a full time QB coach.

I don't really think we have anyone that is irreplaceable on our staff, but I'd like to keep the Defensive staff's nucleus going forward so we don't see scheme change. You know how much that can hurt a team.

Read that as worst case, it's half the staff.

Think 2-3 changes wouldn't be too much to overcome, especially if it's who we think it will be seeking work elsewhere.

Debord OC
Mahoney OL
Azzani WR
Gillespi RB
Elder TE/ST

Jancek DC
Strip DL
Thig LB
Martinez DB

If we lose half, that would be 4 ish.

If you take the ones mentioned frequently, Azzani, Mahoney, Thig, who else you got?
