Kesling

In all seriousness, I don't understand the Kesling hate/Ward love. Kesling is more than competent, and Ward often sounded like hot ass. Both were/are fine at their jobs. But Kesling is not that bad and Ward is not that awesome.

Kessling is a great TV guy when reading scripts, like official videos or CBJ show.. Also very polished for speeches and functions... He is NOT that great of a play by play guy.. I cant see the game in my mind with him as I could or can with others... Also home radio broadcasters should be big time homers.. They should say we, our, their, and them... Should be absolutely no doubt if your driving along, pick up a game broadcast, and know immediately which schools broadcast team your listening to

Personally, I can't stand when a radio broadcaster constantly says we, our, their, etc. I listen to games on XM radio fairly often and it annoys me when the broadcasters speak in that manner (The UGA radio crew is one of the worst offenders). It's easier to visualize what's going on when the broadcaster uses the names of the teams.

The problem with Bob is he seems like he's rooting for the other team at quite a few times this season(the 1st half of the Kentucky game is a great example). Tennessee needs an announcer that doesn't go out of his way to say what a great game the opponent is having.

We just need announcers who can pronounce the player's names correctly. I'm tired of hearing random facts about how Admiral Schofield is a great outside shooter or how Robert Hobbs is a great ball handler. They just are clueless about our players.

The other day Bert Bertlecamp couldn't remember the names of the players on the team. I would think a color commentator would at least memorize the names of the players.

Is a lot better calling bb games. I didn't live in TN or hear him much before this year. He is obviously no John Ward but he is markedly better calling BB than FB. Serviceable even.

He has tons more experience as he called the Lady Vols games until Ward retired.

He seems much more natural @ BB.

I had never really thought about it, but I think you guys are right about him being better at basketball.

I listened to a lot of the lady vol games while working part time in college.

He called Marciniak "Spinderella" - always made me laugh.

Seems to me that Bob becomes a spectator during football plays at times. We get the start and the finish but no filler.

One FB play he called a couple of years ago went as follows: ("On first down and 10), "Bray drops back, goes deep to Hunter, he drops it! It will be third down and 6." What is going on on the field has little to do with what he is saying.

BB, not so bad. At least he gets the score right on occasion.
