I still don't think he leaves...I agree with volatil. This is all being said and done by Butch's agent to get an extension, more money, field turf, or a combination of all of them.

Guy on VQ says that VTech expects to get Fuente, but that the one snag could be LSU getting Gary Patterson, and Fuente heading to TCU. Kiffin has also supposedly been mentioned in regards to the Memphis job.

I agree with this mostly. If he wins 9 Id say an extension is appropriate. But I don't expect his bluff will be called and he will receive both.

Win 9 and get a small raise. Until then he needs to show great progress.

People are going to have a hard time understanding that this year. He's on the low end of the market anyway, and EVERYBODY will be getting raises this year. It will be insane.

I agree. I hate Ole Muss, so that would be fine by me. It would suck having to fight off another school for Nashville recruits though. A power 5 with a good coach is another inviting option. I would think Tigerhigh would have to invest tons of cash in facilities though. Are they even capable of that?

I read an article in the Commercial Appeal that said Memphis had offered Fuente 2.2. Then Houston offered Herman 3 so Memphis was gona likely match if they hadn't already non publicly. So if that's true UT is gona have to start paying up or we won't keep Butch.

It's never about what you're worth. It's about what you're worth compared to the guy next to you. Jones is on the salary low end in the SEC as I recall, and he's moving up the board on the SEC win column.

LWS said some changes will be made to the staff this offseason. Sounds to me like the plan for next year is already in place so why would that be necessary if Butch wasn't here?
