Va Tech is 3rd or 4th best job in the ACC while Tenn is 6th best job in Sec
This is debatable. FSU and Clemson are definitely the top jobs in the ACC, but there are strong arguments to be made for UNC, GT, and Miami being better jobs than VT by virtue of their recruiting bases alone. If any of those schools brought in someone who can really coach and recruit, they'd have as easy a path to the playoffs as anybody in the country.
Lol
You like to argue
How in the hell does anyone here have any argument we are ahead of any of these programs?
Bama
Lsu
Florida
Georgia
Auburn
A&M
A&M is the closest for sure but the recruiting territory breaks any ties there might be
Wake up people. Right now we aren't an elite program
Bomani Jones said today he had UGA ahead of LSU, but he also had Alabama behind both in terms of best jobs. He pointed to the fact that Louisiana always has talent, and there is no one else in state to compete with. Said you can also easily pull kids from Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, and even Florida and Georgia.
I don't know where he ranks the other schools in the conference. Just mentioned those 3.
I agree which makes those jobs pretty darn appealing IMO
Perhaps I am the only one that finds it odd a coach that is never anything but a robot is talking about a discussion he and his wife have had about how much this job is aging him.
Just seems odd. If that makes me a drama queen then so be it but when a robot shows some real life qualities my ears perk up
And statements like that might very well
Mean he is rethinking that choice
I agree with you, but I think Ole Miss needs to be in that 3rd tier as well. Mississippi's talent pool is on or with or better than Tennessee's and Alabama's. Plus they're close enough to Memphis to have a lot of pull there as well. The only difference between us and Bama is Nick Saban.
College football is all about recruiting and right now proximity to talent is the biggest draw for recruiting since everyone plays on national TV.
The top jobs in the SEC are:
1. LSU/Georgia/Florida
2. Texas A&M
3. Alabama/Tennessee/Auburn
4. The rest
I agree with him. Georgia, LSU, and Florida are the top 3 jobs in the SEC. Everyone else including Bama falls behind em. And if you disagree just remember what bama was like before Saban.
Being the east division helps make Tennessee attractive too, I think, relative to teams in the west. Plus, we are not that far from some very fertile recruiting grounds in neighboring states. Sometimes people talk about Tennessee like its Nebraska in terms of recruiting base and that's just not true.
I agree with him. Georgia, LSU, and Florida are the top 3 jobs in the SEC. Everyone else including Bama falls behind em. And if you disagree just remember what bama was like before Saban.
