Lol

You guys need to read closer.

I said it "might" mean he is rethinking some things.

Regardless it's very odd for him to say anything personal at all.

Absolutely no way Butch would leave before playing out next season. All the pieces come into place in 2016 and I'm sure he feels the same way. We all know that next year is the year that will make or break him. He will be under immense pressure but he better get 9+ wins.

Munsoned...is that a Kingpin reference??

Yes. Up the creek without a paddle. Miles really is Munsoned. In 16 days he went from number 2 and undefeated to possibly getting fired, but it will be the second highest buyout at $15 million behind Weiss $19 million. Plenty of fans are already wanting him from USCe, USCw, uga, mizzou, candy, Kentucky, Minnesota, Texas, Maryland...he'll end up somewhere.

Meh

You make millions to do something you love.

People all over the world worry about making enough to put food on the table and a roof over their children's heads. That's pressure.

Those people don't get millions if they get fired.

I like Butch but come on

It's a quality of life deal. Not downplaying our service men and women or people who have to work multiple jobs to feed their families. They have real pressure.

But these coaches at high level programs get questioned and criticized for every move they make. Yes, they chose the profession, and they get compensated real well. Doesn't change the fact that fans threaten their families or their kids have to hear things at school.

Miles could rule the roost at any ACC school worth a damn. Besides UT my second team is NC state I'd love for him to go there.

Good post.

That life isn't for everyone. It would be extremely odd to walk away but would be understandable IMO

The way you worded it doesn't matter, it's just you arguing semantics. You just wanted to make something out of nothing, as usual.

Perhaps I am the only one that finds it odd a coach that is never anything but a robot is talking about a discussion he and his wife have had about how much this job is aging him.

Just seems odd. If that makes me a drama queen then so be it but when a robot shows some real life qualities my ears perk up

Butch is hard wired for this ****. Watch him he eats it up. The glare on the sidelines. The suits. The organizing every little detail. Where the heck could he replicate that?

Maybe at VA tech where the scrutiny isn't as severe and the competition certainly is nowhere close to as stiff??

Yeah, you definitely aren't trying to to stir anything up. It's obvious, man.

I would rather make 3mil a year in the ACC than 4mil a year in the SEC.

Over the course of a career the ACC job very likely ends up paying more and it's at least partially a better quality of life

See Les miles when considering the shelf life of a career in the SEC. There is zero chance a frank Beemer coaches that long in the SEC

Yeah well pay me 8 million dollars to go away and you can mock my dumb a$$ all the way to the bank.

I get it. It's stressful and he isn't home much but HE chose this job.

I don't want to hear about or even care about the labor pains. Show me the baby

This. All day. Hate it when rich people act like they have real professional problems. "Oh people won't worship the ground I walk on if I don't perform! That's the same as worrying if you can pay your mortgage right?"

You aren't Butch Jones.

So ESPN recently released their ranking of JUCO prospects. I know a lot of people like to hate on their evals, but it's interesting to look at nonetheless. A few takeways:

*Jonathon Kongbo is ranked their #5 JUCO prospect.

*Jamarcus King is #10. Shame he seems to be having grade troubles.

*Alexis Johnson #14 and the #1 DT.

*Jeff George comes in at #26

*Former LSU MLB Clifton Garret is at #35. Big fall for someone many thought was the best MLB prospect in the country coming out of high school.

*I didn't see Jordan Bonner on there.

*Desmond Henderson missed the top 50 by just a bit it seems. They have him as the #7 JUCO CB

*Riley Ferguson rounds out the list at #50. The eval on him pretty much says what we all knew: he has all the tools below the shoulders, but comes as a risk because of what's above them.

Coaches are ego maniacs and control freaks.

There are few jobs in college that are considered the pinnacle of the profession and several are in this league.

Sure it's stressful and demanding but that's EXACTLY why he's compensated so well.

I really believe this is being made into something it wasn't intended to be. He's not going anywhere and I sure as hell don't feel sorry for him.

Good info, thanks.
