Offensive Play Calling!!!

It's not DeBord. Dobbs missed two early td passes. But the real issue is the oline. Kerbyson singlehandidly killed two drives - once with a whiff of a block and once with a false start.

But he did a good job in the interviews this week.

Smith had 5 yards on the defender on the first one.... He was wide open

Dobbs has gotten worse under debord, and coupling his inaccuracy with debord's lackluster play calling... And you have low scoring games that make us vulnerable to 4th quarter comebacks.

What makes us vulnerable is the lack of depth at defensive tackle and a freshman MLB . They fade every game about halfway through the 3 rd quarter

Dobbs has improved ten times over as the season has progressed . I think it is good that they protected Dobbs by running the ball tonight . Putting the ball in the air tonight could have looked like Alabama ...except they might have gotten the 5 interceptions rather than drop them . Mizzou has a very good defense , and we still have porous pass blocking. Not a great game to air it out

Also was a tough TD catch that Malone could have made early on.

We looked horrible vs cupcake state last game. We've had what 4 possessions within the 45 yard line and only scored a touchdown on an incredible poorly defended busted qb draw.
We will not win the east like this next year.
That is our " coming out" year right.... Next year

Yep....to bad you jumped off the boat.... GO VOLS!!!!!!!!

If Dobbs can increase his accuracy just a modest amount, next year will be special. Think about the wide open misses for TDs this season. He can already take over a game with his legs. He could be Vince Young next year. Only difference is he would have a triple digit IQ.

Debord is fricking killing me.
He is so predictable it is not funny.
How about a reverse, a couple of well designed screens once in awhile Something to surprise the opponent.
It is totally frustrating watching his calls.
We actually have a better offense than what we are seeing.
Debord sucks. I blame Butch for him being at TN.
While i`m at it, our D secondary still sucks.

I'd like to think that. He has a lot to work on. We need a downfield passing game to go where we want to go. We're a long ways from having it right now..

They are terrified of letting Dobbs air it out.. Can't put all the blame on the OL either.. Not convinced this is something that can be fixed either..

7-4 with a good chance at 8-4 really sucks, huh?

I only recall one pass attempt over 20 yards.... To Smith.... And maybe one to Malone

Look at it this way, no one will try to hire our coaches away or try to steal our offensive game plans. Butch gave it away on the 1st drive of the 2nd half calling down the refs to get 5 seconds taken off the clock because the clock never started. He was the only one in the stadium that noticed. What I can't understand is, with his ultra-conservative strategy, why he runs a fast paced offense instead of running the clock down on every play?

3 wins in a row is very uncommon lately so props to the staff for winning 7 games. Great defensive effort by the line and the secondary.

I agree. But, we do see the occasional flash of brilliance from Joshua. A QB coach could be a real blessing to him and the team.

is killing me! Is anyone else seeing the same thing i am seeing?

And why are we so afraid to pass the ball down the field?
Offensive play calling is.......OFFENSIVE.

We won, and we covered.

Was a real dangerous game with all the emotions, senior day, Pinkel's retirement and medical condition, tring to be bowl eligible, etc.

Also, we ran very well against a stiff defense who knew we were going to run it. I get nervous that we run too much in the 4th quarter, but, perhaps the coach knows more about our limitations than I do.

This was a solid win. Not am ugly win, a solid win.

Yes in the second half of nearly all of our games we score most of our points in the first half and then leave it to the defense to seal the deal that will work against poor offenses but good offense will come back and beat you, now tonight at least we keep our offense on the field more than we have in the past, but it seems like we call the same old plays after halftime, seem like we don't even try to adjust to the other teams adjustment's and a good team will come back and beat your azz, hey i am tickle to death with the win and not complaining i am looking ahead to the 16 season and with all our talent and depth with the right coaching and play calling we are a top 10 team that could make a run at the SEC Championship and if you win that who know's Playoff and i said playoff with the right playing calling and coaching on the offense side of the ball, our Defense is improving and we will have one H@LL OF A FOOTBALL TEAM IN 16 WITH THE RIGHT COACHING.

Neyland Maxim: Carry the fight to our opponent and keep it there for 60 minutes.

Jones Maxim: Carry the fight to our opponent and keep it there for 45 minutes, then hope we built a big enough lead to hold on in the 4th.

Maybe there should be an 8th maxim?

very conservative play calling hard nose game. It worked, we won. 2 streaks gone this year. hard nosed win.

I'm just happy we have to argue over whether The WINS are ugly win or not. We are starting to turn the corner.:pepper:
