I don't expect the Missouri game to be that much of a nail-biter, really. Missouri's offense is garbage. This is the worst offense we'll have faced this year, excepting West Carolina and North Texas.

I expect to have good field position all day, and I don't expect Missouri to move the ball with any consistency at all (they'll hit a few plays, every team does; just have to make sure they go for first downs instead of touchdowns). The only way they beat us is if we beat ourselves with turnovers. On the other hand, if we force Lock into some dumb decisions then this game could get ugly.

Don't just weather the storm; hit them right in the mouth. That overflow of emotion will work against them if we don't give them a reason to believe in themselves.

MIZZ is a decent team and they will be fired up because this is there coaches last home game and he is a players coach so we will have our hands full and they always got plenty of NFL talent on the defense this will be a hard tough fought battle that could come down to the last few minutes of the game, if Dobbs is of in the passing game and they take the run away from Dobbs we can't beat them depending on Dobbs arm we need his legs in this game and our Defense has to step up and dominate and if they do and we don't turn the ball over we should win pulling away in the fourth quarter.

Pretty sad when Pedigo is the one trying to salvage this thread.

They'll come in believing in themselves. I expect that to end within the first 10 minutes. 31 - 10 Vols.

Yep. This staff consistently comes out with a good offensive gameplan for the first few drives; that will help us here. Just can't have any stupid 95 yard fumble recovery again. Hit them early, don't take the foot off of the pedal, and this game really shouldn't be close.

Ahhhhhh!!!!
Anyone else subjected to this stomach bug thing going around right now?

I can't articulate just how much fluid has discharged from my head and rectum in the last 12 hours. I'm such a wuss with illness.

Hope you get to feeling better but TMI.

If the Vols play decidedly faster and better on Missouri's turf field Saturday does that give Butch Jones more leverage on a possible move to turf in the off-season

I would say a little, but most likely not. The people who don't want a change obviously have motivations other than winning in mind.

I don't get the whole "Neyland will always be a Grass stadium" crowd.

If we play like we did against Kentucky against Missouri and the only common denominator is the field turf then by all means let's put it in Neyland

Ole Miss claimed they switched to turf because they couldn't grow grass well. They are scheduled to switch back to grass and they also run a spread offense. UF never needed turf with Meyer's spread or to power Spurrier's high octane 'fun n' gun' teams.

The reason most places install turf is a matter of cost/expense in grounds keeping while others located in extremely cold climates do so because of that. OTOH what a lot of folks don't realize is that because of Neyland's location and the geology of campus we actually had problems with sinkholes when we used an artificial surface on the field. Our sinkhole problems were alleviated once we switched back to grass so there's a good reason to keep it given that we know full well a great natural surface is more than possible to have here.

yes.

Lol

Deerpark also confirmed that butch wants turf.

He also says there is zero chance hart and the powers at be allow that to happen

He also said we would absolutely never switch to Nike. Funny thing how a winning coach gets his way.

If we are going to be a read option team trying to outrun the power teams of Bama and GA I'm 100% for field turf. The new stuff is nothing like Astro turf and they can make it look almost like natural grass.
