But truthfully, this season is already a failure since we are no longer in the hunt for a championship.

My brother, clearly we are steadily rebuilding and Butch's teams have gotten better from yr 1 to yr 2 to yr 3. Year 4 should be awesome.

Meanwhile, learn to savor and enjoy the plays that happen during each game. If it was ONLY outcomes that mattered, we'd just flip coins for winner/loser and save a lot of time, trouble and expense. :hi:

I hear you man. You're right.

I just really thought we were going to be in a better position to fight for the East. Once we were eliminated I initially found tons of positives and I'm all in on the future of the program. But now that some time has gone by, I'm just kinda bummed that there's not more on the line for these last couple games.

We have a good team. Much better than most teams we've had the last decade. Just wish we had some opportunities for meaningful games down the stretch.

We're in this weird place where we've already wrapped up bowl eligibility, but can't really do much to improve ourselves. If we win out, well great, that's what we were supposed to do. If we lose a game, the negativity is going to be terrible all offseason.

We're just playing for pride at this point. That's fine. I want to win. Badly. But it's not making me very pumped and I think both of these next two games are going to be frustrating to watch whether we win or lose.

Hopefully we put it all together and just destroy in these last 3 games. That would be fun.

There's like 3 tornadoes on the ground out west right now and 10 more storms that are under tornado warning. Stay safe out there guys. Break out potential.

Random observation:

We lost to UGA in 2013 by a fingertip just outside the end zone.

We beat UGA in 2015 by a fingertip just outside the end zone.

Almost the exact same location of the end zone in both games as well.

Wonder how many years it'll take Tennessee to be relevant in basketball again. Maybe about 2?

So Jimmy said this morning that Hart was the one who's been defending the current groundskeeper. After the last two games, the pressure around him is going to force him to make a change. Sounds like Butch and others wanted a change a while back, but Hart didn't go for it.

He also brought up cost. The cost spent on the turf the past year alone was several hundred thousand dollars, not to mention the cost from resodding every year recently.

This is a major strike against Hart in my book. Downright embarrassing.

I'm less impressed with Hart as time goes on. I felt like he did a good job getting our financial house in order, but a number of
issues have given me pause. Donnie Tyndall was chief among them, and we still don't know how Butch Jones will turn out. So turf issues don't exactly help inspire confidence in leadership.

On a more positive note, just found this awesome suit.

I'll just say I'm very proud of Volnation tonight. I was at the basketball game and even though we were outnumbered at least 3 to 1 we were far and away louder than the Tech fans.

We are playing for a whole lot which is why many are so nervous and pissy. They want to be mad in advance to avoid the heart break. Chavis I like a lot but he's a pissy one right now.

119 is playing for all the cynics, doubters, haters, and mostly themselves.

Barnes straight called out Punter and Moore for turnovers. Would be interesting if Butch did that.

Seems like Barnes has a small attitude. The two times I've heard him(once during Vol calls, one post game).

I can't really put a finger on it, but some of his responses to Kessling have made me wonder ab it. Like an "I'm better than you" approach. Maybe it's nothing. Maybe I'm use to hearing toughness and resiliency too much.

If the deerpark rumor is true that he hired someone who had never managed a football field, that's a major strike. A freshman art major could make a better hiring decision than that. Hart hasn't really done anything right since coming here. He stumbled into Butch after failing to get guys he wanted, and that's been his best accomplishment.
