Recent history would suggest this will happen, but I think this weekend may actually have been what we needed to refocus and finish strong.

I agree we very well may lose one here but yes yesterday was very good for refocusing.

Very good point

Mizzou game scares me. We're the better team but there's just so much going on in Columbia I don't know how either team will react.

We will have to be focused and limit mistakes.

Fun fact from the Vol_football Instagram account.

With Coleman Thomas at C, Vols are averaging 210 rushing yards per game, 2nd in SEC.

Also from that same account.

Dobbs is 11-5 his last 16 starts averaging 34.5 pts and 424 yards per game.

Jalen Hurd's 12 TDs are tied for 4th in the SEC.

How did Missouri look in their game? I missed it I know they won just wondering since their offense has been awful but they managed to score 20 pts.

BYU had several incredibly dumb penalties on successive plays that basically handed Mizzou a TD. Otherwise BYU would have won. BYU was mauling them up front and Lock is a very poor decision maker.

I see us winning a low scoring, very sloppy game. Mizzou's penchant for forcing turnovers and our inconsistent OL play worries me. I think we can get some big plays on special teams though. And Dobbs plays with heart, even if he misses several open receivers a game. I think he wills us to victory.

I'm pretty sure Dormady was playing with the first-string o-line at least for the first series, but I did see Jones in there at one point because he got turned around looking for a block. Not his best play.

Crowder be awesome tho. :)

Offense better wake up or we might find ourselves at 6-6 with a very angry fanbase. I currently am very uneasy about how our offense matches up with Mizzu and Vandy defense. Our defense will be fine but the way our offense and Dobbs have played past 2 weeks we may not put more than 10pts on either defense playing like that.

My homer thoughts say this team wakes the heck up but the past 2 years we have not played well versus either team with a lot more on the line than will be now.

I'm in the nervous camp, but I'm not on borderline meltdown mode like years past for this stretch. I think our team is learning how to win and has a will to win. It won't be pretty but I think we get it done against both teams.

If Dobbs get his legs back we can blow out both teams. Not sure that happens though.

So how is Mizzou going to handle our defense again? The secondary is developing into a real strength for us. They are locking WRs down week in and week out. Even the Bama game they were mauling WRs.

You could also add that our coaches are learning how to win, too. Ya know, those blown leads or sitting conservatively on a small lead. Hopefully it'll all come together to finish out the year with wins and really take off next year..

Man we got a good one in Kirkland.

@Vol_Football: #VolFact: @KIRK_Era has 17 tackles in the last two games and his 52 on the season, 2nd among all freshmen in @SEC

I am just hoping that Dobbs didn't run purposely to protect his foot in this game and can turn it on next week we desperately need mobile Dobbs not standing in the pocket taking sacks and throwing horrible passes Dobbs. Butch didn't seem to address it post game other than saying it takes an element out of the offense... That's putting it mildly:)

If we lose to either Mizzou or Vandy, we can safely assume that this coaching staff will never compete for even an East title here. Two games left to finish strong against teams that UT out talents by a lot. No excuse to not win them both. And the amount of pressure they will be under will be nothing compared to the pressure of trying to win the division.

If they can't pull that off, there's no way they will survive that UF, A&M, UGA, and Bama stretch next year.

I loved AJ Johnson and not being a football expert in the least, I used to wonder why he took so much criticism as a player. Now that I see Kirkland I can see why. DK is just a better overall athlete and is much more disruptive. AJ was a great player (leaving aside off field issues) but DK will be a better one. I'm enjoying watching him develop.
