I feel like I'm lacking a lot of context in this Missouri thing, and after reading about it for a few minutes I don't understand it any better than I did in the beginning.

I get that Missouri is a shrieking kettle right now given the stuff going on in Ferguson, but at UM, what was Wolfe supposed to do? He has set up programs to promote racial diversity. Unfortunately, it's pretty impossible to stop ignorant people from speaking. I don't understand how Wolfe has become the scapegoat for the actions of others; presumably, he didn't encourage or in any way condone the behavior, so how is he responsible? And what does a **** swastika have to do with any of it?

Also, "check your ____ privilege" is quickly becoming one of my least favorite phrases.

I don't admit to knowing much about what is/was happening at Missouri, but college campuses across the country have become beholden to whatever interest group yells the loudest. There was a time when college campuses were about having and exploring different opinions. Now it's about cow towing to political correctness and not hurting anyone feelings with a different opinion or idea. I'm not saying that hate and racism should be tolerated (like I said I don't know the specifics about what is happening in Missouri) but college administrations have allowed/promoted this and deserve what is happening to them.

Terrible ethics posting that kind of stuff by 74.

Yep but I have a friend that is close to the program and he just told me a few things about this.

He said he knew that Hurd has expressed his displeasure with the offense to coaches a number of times.

He said he suspected that is why we got under center a few times at Kentucky.

74 has said both of the above.

Now I don't mind posting this Because if a family member is coming on here with this they are opening up themselves. He says the family isn't afraid to play the below the belt and is likely bringing this info here to hopefully bring pressure on cbj to change his style somewhat for Hurd. To put it nicely he isn't a fan of the family.

I am not at liberty to post who is telling me this but if I could most here would agree it's A
Good source. Sorry I know I hate that kind of info as well .

I never really considered that point but it is very valid. It's like telling your QB to drop back to pass but only throw it if the WR decides to run his route.

Yes it's very valid.

Travis Stephens was saying he needed to stop being hesitant and that was the response

I don't believe Jalen Hurd is seriously going to quit the team. Secondly, I can't believe people are actually giving legitimacy to the very idea.

My small high school here in VA, Union, finished off the season Friday with a perfect 10-0 record. We host Gretna in the first round of the playoffs this Friday at 7pm. Go Bears! But not why I'm posting.

We have a 6'4+ Sophomore receiver names James Mitchell. Kid has awesome ball skills and is quick as a cat. The reason I post this is he was on a visit to Clemson for the FSU game this past Saturday. He's heard from them, UNC, and VT among others. He's not heard from UT yet, but he would be open to it. My brother helps coach Union, if I hear anything I'll pass it on. Competition isn't the greatest, (2A) but the kids gonna be good.

I don't think many here think that either I sure don't but it's the bs talk that is the issue

Without knowing the details, I hate being held hostage to force me to do something.

I hope Missouri President files suit against the school and state if he did nothing wrong (see first statement of this post).

Bet he got a golden parachute to avoid just that thing.

Any chance this Hurd stuff has to do with the clearly better OL from UGA and Bama all of a sudden not playing and blocking for him?

It's not surprising to hear that some of the best players are frustrated. If fans are frustrated, think how much harder it is on players. The team goal was to win the SECE. It was a realistic goal, within reach, and not only did the team not achieve it, a bitter rival that they outplayed and outscored for 59 minutes is going to ATL while they're still grinding toward a bowl.

Then, after four inexplicable last-minute losses, they barely squeak out a sloppy game against a bad team at the bottom of the SEC in front of a home crowd that wanted a big win. It has been a disappointing season and it's wearing on everybody, especially the elite players who came here to win championships... and are unhappy with the team's slow progress toward that goal.

I don't know. I'd argue the system is helping Hurd, not hurting him.

This team is 3rd in the SEC in rushing despite a suspect offensive line. Without the misdirection of the read option and the threat of Dobbs running it Hurd would be finding less space than he is.

As mentioned previously in this thread, he had way more yards rushing against Bama than the leader for the Heisman. That's with 2 18 year olds on the right side of the OL.

This is such BS

I don't know why we don't use whatever lineup worked against Bama. Clearly those 5 can get Hurd yards better than any other 5, why not use those 5? Who cares if 2 of them are freshmen?

Same. No way this happens.. And I firmly believe, if there is some frustration, none of this should ever make it to social media sites or fan sites like this.

Guarantee he got a lot of money to keep quiet and leave.

Are folks certain this poster is indeed a family member? Or is this thing simply taking on a life of its own?

I was/am frustrated with the playcalling and adjusting.

First 2 drives Hurd was ripping off 20 yard runs like crazy. USC adjusted and put 8 men in the box. We rarely challenged them downfield. Feel like that would have opened the run game back up again.

We won but we ALWAYS have something to complain about.

The social environment around college football is so fervent the temptation for parents not to chime in an second guess coaches must be intense. The game is complicated and subject to casual misperception. Fans are not observing individual players on a day to day basis. The Vols' offense has looked lively and competitive this year. From my perspective this can only improve especially as a young team learns. Is dominant now and has an opportunity to be stellar next year. OK. Donate two cents to your favorite charity.

I certainly don't care how old they are. Best players on the field DO IT

Safeties were moving forward before almost every snap, and we still didn't do anything to keep them honest.

To me, Colorado is one of the most pretty places here in North America. Get myself a log cabin with a fire pit, huge flatscreen tv, comfy couch/recliner, and let it snow. Would be in one of my happy places.

Yes. That's it exactly it. That is the goal..
