So some of Missouri's faculty are now walking out.
My initial thought was that protesting to get the chancellor to resign is a stupid idea. It doesn't solve the problems that are being complained of. It's like taking pepto bismal to treat cancer.
However, the number of people close to the situation who are siding with the protestors makes me wonder about this guy.

If you live your life reporting and hanging on the feelings and thoughts of 18-22 year olds then you are signing up for a rather chaotic experience.
Jalen Hurd is a great player and as frustrating as the play calling is to watch, it must be far more to run when it's your career/health on the line. I wouldn't be surprised if Jalen said it. Saying it and meaning it are two different things though.
Missouri Tigers player says team not united over practice boycott
Still not sure what the President of the University system of Missouri is supposed to do about an unknown person drawing a swastika in poop.
I had no doubt that some faculty would be walking out as well, this is what they have trained for and agitated for their entire lives.
Did anyone see the picture of the Thomas Jefferson statue covered in post its? The group also wants that removed.
Who was the target of the swastika? Do we know, or did someone just take exception to it and decide to express his opinion?
By it being made of poop, did that make the swastika mean more of what a swastika stands for, or was it a way to degrade the meaning of a swastika?
A few years ago there was a cross or crucifix that an artist made of the same material that got the defenders of the cross very much up in arms. We're not seeing /hearing that in this case, are we?

The political/racial tension is piqued in Missouri after over a year of conflict in Ferguson. The inaction in the face of the swastika incident appears to be symbolic of a kind of acceptance when there is a valid issue that the status quo is not working. The undercurrents are real. I hope a solution can be found.
I am not buying the Jalen stuff. Frustration, maybe, transfer/leaving, no. If there is anyone Butch will make for sure stays, it's Jalen Hurd. Hell Butch invited Jalen to butch's birthday dinner.. he won't let him leave
^^^^This exactly
He is a kid. He may look like a grown man but he is 19-20 years old. I imagine that a LOT of players think about transferring. I deal with college kids who are always wondering if their life would be better in a different situation. My guess is, almost every player on the roster has had a stretch where they have thought about transferring. When things are tough, most humans have thoughts of doing something different or changing locations. That doesn't mean it will happen.
Is Hurd frustrated? Probably. The OL is the walking wounded and they weren't exactly dominant when healthy. His peers (Chubb, Henry, Fournette) have gotten more notoriety in different systems. That would make a guy wonder. Not to mention, he just played on one of the worst turfs in college football this past Saturday. I felt like Hurd, at times this week, was VERY tentative trying to not blow out his knee on that horrible field.
side note: I am sitting in a waiting room getting my oil changed. Two "musicians" are loudly talking about the Nashville life and how cool they are that they have had a couple of albums produced. One of the most pretentious conversations I have ever been privileged to hear...haha...only in Nashville.

Yep. Live here in Nashville. It's agonizing the crap type of music, majority country or bro country, that keeps getting pumped out. The "musicians", which they're not to me, and the pretentiousness has been getting out of control for years. Nashville is nothing like it used to be. And it's only going to get worse. Everybody keeps moving here...
Inaction? What the heck is Wolfe supposed to do?! How does it even relate to black people??

I'm done with Nashville as of next summer. I love the city but hate what it is becoming. The housing prices and daily gridlock aren't at all compatible with what is essentially a 4th or 5th tier city.
Where was the inaction? They are making all students undergo diversity training, and this was prior to the boycott. Beyond that what would you have him do?
