USCe has developed a pattern of hiring old coaches who have only a few years left in their coaching years. They appear to think that coaches like Holtz and SOS will be able to be productive well into their seventies. They spend a lot of money and get a couple of good years out of these once good coaches who fizzle out. I am glad that Tennessee hires coaches who can produce for at least 10 - 15 years.

Let's be honest though... Holtz improved the program a bit, and Spurrier took them to their highest point as a program. Their last two hires have not been bad.

I am looking forward to Clemson possibly getting trounced today.

And I'm curious as to why Georgis is such a heavy favorite over Kentucky? 16.5?

Go Vols, Cats, and Tigers. Next week will be fun if Georgia loses, and I will enjoy the rest of the season so much more if Bama is not in the playoff conversation every damn day.

Posted this was being considered a few days ago and it's a done deal now.

Very bad for college athletics IMO

@darrenrovell: Yesterday, Ohio State Board of Trustees approved a face value ticket price of $195 for next year's Michigan game (via @Todd_Jones)

If people are going to continue to pay it, then ticket prices are going to continue to skyrocket. Sucks.

"They shouldn't be in top 4. Their resume isn't as impressive as others. If their name isn't Alabama they're not ranked in top 4"

No doubt people will pay for that one but it's heading toward a cooperate only crowd. I remember crying as my dad said we aren't paying 25$ from a scalper for a Vandy/tenn hoops game in Nashville when I was a child. We left and drove home. I was crushed.

At those prices I would have never attended a game as a kid and thus this Board may have never been introduced to me as an avid fan. That might make This thread happy but college sports need avid every folks as their fans. It's what makes it special

Prayers out to the folks down in Mississippi, specifically Ms State. Apparently, a freshman football player, Keith Joseph Jr. And his father, Keith Joseph sr, a former bulldog were killed in a car crash last night on the way to attend a game at their old highschool.

McElroy actually agreed with him. They lost to a team, who were hammered by Florida and Memphis. I hate them both, but Florida deserves to be there A LOT more than Bama does.

Saw it on ESPN's website this morning...tragic!

That is sad. Life is but a vapor.

Watched the Tennessee vs Kentucky offensive snaps over again( Thanks Freak for the YouTube Vid :)) and I wouldn't be surprised if Kelly and Young ended up being better pure RBs than Kamara at the least. They are very very natural at RB. Young is a player I want to see with more time. And Kelly needs some carries. He's a problem for defenses.
Isn't it great to have this problem again

Kamara needs to develop a between-the-tackles résumé. That's the only thing I'm surprised that he's lacking. He actually runs with little to no forward lean which is surprising because he's strong and hard to tackle.

That is a load of crap. Spurrier went 11-2 in 2011, 11-2 in 2012 and 11-2 in 2013 and finished #4 in AP poll. All in his late 60's. Spurrier got to that point 7 years into his stint at USCe. Not sure about your post .
