You're right it isn't fair to point out the last drive. I should've pointed out all the stalled drives because when we are in long yardage situations the qb struggles to make accurate throws and the defense knows that so they stack the box to stop the run

Just curious, but in Tennessee's best season in a decade, why are you bashing the Tennessee players who are without a doubt Giving their all for Tennessee in every game?

Forget? It's mentioned every day here.

UF had some talent, but they also were a bad football team. Nobody here expected close the results they're getting.

Chavis, you gonna stick with this anger/disappointment/skepticism/blame it all on Butch bandwagon til next season? Gonna make for a long miserable off-season, my friend.

Whether I am wrong or not on having a lot of optimism and excitement about the future, I will at least get some enjoyment and miss out on some dread during the off-season

Bowling Green was the best offense we faced all year. They would beat about half the teams in SEC.

Did you watch them last year? They were a bad football team.

People just don't want to admit Jim Mac is doing a bang up job in year one.

Sure I did.

They were very very talented, played for a bad coach that lost his team, and they quit on him.

Sure CJM has done a great job but last years team wasn't as far off as most think especially considering their defense was elite and returning

The year before that? This is a program that won ten games over two years. No matter the reason, they were a bad football team and are far exceeding expectations.

Also before we give Coach Mac to much praise let's also remember he is coaching Chump players. Chump did the same thing at Florida going 11-1 and playing for a SEC title and we see how that played out.

The question Is did Florida go from a very average coach to a great one or

From an awful one to an above average 1.

Time will tell

I think he means to go from the dumpster UT was to having UT at a sustained, elite level that can't be shaken by a slow recruiting year or a bad upset.

Just saying the normal cbj stuff

By 2019, TVA will have the mood stabilizer mix in the water supply just right. From an internal memo to CBJ...

Different flow and pressure rates have been in evidence numerous times this season alone... Extremely bipolar mood of Tennessee fan base highlighted on our very own VN

:)

Ok, help me out here.... saw where a former Notre Dame running back transfered to UAB. Did UAB not shut their program down?

"program" : when ish rolling so tight coach defections, blue chips leaving early, and injuries have the same impact as a gnat on a semi to your playoff run.

see also Coach Neyland

see also dynasty

see also Butch gets it

Had to fify :salute:

The AL Board of Trustees shut down the UAB program since UAB was "part of the same school system" and didn't require "a second team to represent UA". Basically Paul Bryant Jr. and his trustee posse wanted to kick the little guy, and Birmingham responded with a ton of support, including some very high end donors that helped get the finances it needed to build new facilities and potentially partner with the city of Birmingham to build a new stadium downtown instead of the crappile that is Legion Field.

UAB will return in 2017. Fans wanted 2016, but realistically, we wouldn't have had enough players to field a starting 22, yet alone 85 guys. Crazy scenario, probably the toughest recruiting job in the nation. Find 35ish guys to sign with you this class, convince them all it's ok that there's no team for a year (you can RS and focus on getting stronger), then convince another 50-ish before the 2017 class to join a program that is literally starting back from scratch.

All that to say, fan support from the people of Birmingham has probably tripled since all of this happened. Never seen anything quite like it.

UF has the same # of 5*'s on their roster as ours but all of ours are freshman and sophmores.

They have 6 evenly divided I think it is 2 seniors, 1 JR, 1 Soph and 2 Freshman.

They also have a couple more 4 *'s on their roster than us and once again their 4*'s are older than ours.

McElwain walked into a great situation. He was an offensive coach with a Elite defense that already knew how to perform.

He had some tools to work with on offense (Robinson, Callaway, RB's, Grier, TE) and really just had to get their confidence up and get them to gel.

The only real miracle I see that they have pulled off is with the OL. Not sure how it hasn't been more of a liability.

To act like we lost to some crappy team in the Swamp is ignorant.

It is frustrating knowing how close we were and that we had every right to win, but it did take two trick plays and a few 4th downs for us to ever get in position to be ahead.
