Well I've been lurking here for years before I started posting a few years ago. One thing I can tell you information wise:
When I need to validate a story I look for LWS. He has verified this. When I need info on certain players I look for Steeler, he has verified this. When I look for uniform info it's DeerPark. There are certain posters here that are spot on every time they post and wouldn't say other wise unless they knew.
This definitely appears to be true to all of those saying stop spreading rumors.
New We have been aware of a particularly heated practice near the end of the training camp portion of the vols' preseason camp. It is the night that Butch made the players restart practice at the indoor facility after leaving Neyland Stadium. Folks have said that Butch was the most intense and worked up that they have ever seen him at Tennessee but that there was no sort of physical altercation other than grabbing players' jerseys during the course of normal drill work and scrimmage settings. Spoken with four different people in the program in the last 48-72 hours and they all say the notion of Butch striking a player is "absolutely false". We heard about the practice literally by the next morning and no one had ever said that Butch struck anyone but that he was in the players' faces. It sounded to us like a relatively typical type of scene that isn't necessarily uncommon towards the end of an intense training camp.
I have NO idea if this is true. This came from a poster on Volquest.
Butch gave Mac Crowder a gut punch just before the season starterd. H was working with some young OL and got pissed and yelled for a veteran OL to come over. So Crowder came over and Buch slugged him in the gut then started yelling at the young guys that was being tough! Crowder wasn't so happy about it and pushed Butch down then the veteran OL got in his face and some coaches had to get everything under control. That is why Wiesman, Kendrick, Crowder, etc. stopped coming to practice for a little while. Apparently it has been a lot of work behind the scene to keep this quiet including much pleading with the Crowder family to not go public. That is what a friend of a local radio personality told me. Not saying it's fact, just passing it along. TIFWIW.
