You mean when their defense gave up under 200 yards? Well yeah, if they gave up triple that, I'd be inclined to think their defense isn't very good. Wouldn't you?
Have you ever seen a single one of them try to use it as an excuse after a loss? No, because they realize that's their job and that would make them look not only bad, but clueless.
When's the last time the Patriots lost because they "weren't trying?"
Oh I get it. OU giving up yards to Tulsa is more proof Butch sucks. My bad.
I forgot how smart you and your ilk are.
LOL you got me. Since you're so smart can you show where I'm wrong?
Win and you won't be wrong. At this point the trajectory is improved recruiting and an improved roster but same results. When that changes I'll have no gripes. Dooley was competitive in all but 2 games his last year (Bama and Vandy) so losing close isn't much of a sign of improvement. Neither staff has shown much propensity to close out games and make adjustments to overcome opponents adjustments.
It truly is amazing to me that people cannot look at this team ON THE FIELD and see huge (in my best Trump voice) improvement.
Compared to what? Dooley lost to UGA, USC, Mizzou and MSU by 10 or less and led UF for almost 3qt. What's different?
Some Butch breathers say the UO loss in 13 didn't matter that it was 45 pts because it's a loss either way and doesn't count any less if you get blown out. Then the other side says we barely lose now, even though it all counts the same. Are both right?
Execution, talent, speed and effort. Getting the right damned # on the field, the team knowing where to friggin line up! Need more?
Those facets don't compare anything. What's your barometer? We were 3 crucial TO's away from potentially being 8-4 DD's last year. We were a crucial TO away from potentially being 3-0 this year.
Despite better speed, effort etc we're sitting in the same place W-L wise at this point in their tenures and that's ultimately what he gets paid $3.6m for.
Like I said, only a fool can't see the difference in this team. Sorry if the shoe fits.
Hell, even some of your fellow Butch bashers admit the team is better just not where they think they should be.
The fact that you can't even say what you're comparing the "improvement" to the fool may fit as well. The defense is light years ahead of 2012 and better than DD's tenure overall is say. The offense is well behind. We used to lose games 35-40 now they're 9-10.
