Are people going crazy because they think Oklahoma is a 8-5 football team?

Butch Jones did not commit the 3rd down penalties that allowed OK to extend scoring drives. So tell us all how YOU would have pulled off the win with the same circumstances. Yeah.....that 's what I thought.

Score a single point at anytime in the second half. Penalties happen.

Do you still view Oklahoma as one of the best teams in the country after Tulsa gained over 600 yards of offense on them and put up 38 points in Norman? The score was 38-31 deep into the 3rd quarter. Tulsa lost 10 games last season. Makes our 250 total yards really really embarrassing.

Did you watch the game? Oklahoma went up 31-10 with 3:14 left in the second quarter. Tulsa got a TD on a FLUKE onside kick and a Hail Mary. Oklahoma scored with 7 min left in the 3rd, and then. Tulsa scored with with 4 min left and then OK scored with 40 sec left. Oklahoma scored and Tulsa scored a garbage time td and the final score was 52-38.
Bowling Green and Tulsa are the top 2 offenses in the nation (yardage wise). The head coaches for each are respectively Dino Babers (BG) amd Tulsa (Phillip Montgomery). Phillip Montgomery is a 1st year head coach who was Art Briles (Baylor) former offensive coordinator. I think Tulsa may have less than ten losses and a little more yardage (blue font for the last one). (Note: Phillip Montgomery had been with Briles 16 years before Tulsa and Dino Babers is also a Briles disciple)

So in short you are saying Oklahoma is one of the best teams (playoff team this year)? That was my question after all. Not that I was talking to you.

Were all 600 of those yards Tulsa gained "fluke" as well? All anyone on here is trying to do is figure out the Tennessee team, not bash Oklahoma. If we couldn't get more than 250 yds and 17 points vs Oklahoma, a team that gave up 600 yards and about 40 pts to mighty Tulsa, what does that say about Tennessee....don't care what it may or may not say about OU.

The more college football you watch you will see how each Saturday is different and you really can't compare how teams do against a specific team.

So you mean coaches view games against different opponents differently? You mean players might, just might over look a team and not play as hard when they know they can crush them? You mean comparing is crazy because schemes between teams are different?
What on earth are you thinking? Don't you know all things are equal and fully comparable?

Not disagreeing with your overall point, but it's the coaches' job to get players to play hard. Using players' lack of effort as an excuse to defend a coach makes no sense.

Not defending anything. Just pointing out reality. It happens at NCAA and even NFL level.

Oklahoma and Tennessee are both good teams. One just happens to have the better coaching staff or smarter. We actually have more talent.

Well, that "reality" reflects poorly on the coach, so you're undercutting your own argument.

I've seen teams by Saban, Meyer, Spurrier, Pete Carrol etc do the exact same thing when playing lower level teams. Your inability to see or admit that speaks volumes.

You might want to get in touch with Urban because obviously he's losing his touch. Did you see them struggle this past weekend? LOL

Have you ever seen a single one of them try to use it as an excuse after a loss? No, because they realize that's their job and that would make them look not only bad, but clueless.

When's the last time the Patriots lost because they "weren't trying?"

What the hell are you talking about? You were saying OU giving up yards to Tulsa is proof OU isn't that good. Thus ipso facto, Butch sucks.

Oh I get it. OU giving up yards to Tulsa is more proof Butch sucks. My bad.
I forgot how smart you and your ilk are.

Tulsa putting 600 yards on them certainly makes their defense (the one that shut us down at home) look bad.

But, we could always go with the "they just weren't trying" argument. They're probably one of the best defenses in the country, right?

I was? When did I mention that a single time before that post?

It's okay, this is clearly going over your head. Take a break.

Wow. Like I said you may want to contact Urban Meyer and talk to him. He's obviously lost his edge. Saturday is total proof. Right? Lol
