Are people going crazy because they think Oklahoma is a 8-5 football team?

I'm disappointed like everyone else about the game but we did not lose to an inferior team. Many experts have Oklahoma making the playoff. Practically no one picked us and many were afraid we would get embarrassed. This loss hurts but it's not embrassing. Losing to Toledo at home is embrassing.

Butch Jones may not know many things but he does know talent. Before the Bowling Green game, he said they were an explosive offense with an NFL QB. I took it as coach speak and thought we would handle them easily. We now know Bowling Green is a good football team. Similarly, Butch said Oklahoma is underrated and a top 5 football team. If that turns out to be true, then we just had a playoff team on the ropes.

This team can still be great. Folks need to let the season play itself out before making declarations this early in the season. Bringing negativity to this football team this early in the season is wrong.

Tennessee fans need to grow up.

Who is going to beat them?

Was at the game Saturday and I think the game was lost by the staff for going so conservative which eventually led to the defense fatiguing. I think Coach Jones has the potential to be a great coach but there are some things that just concern me Oklahoma dared Dobbs to throw the ball in the second half and all they did was run right up the gut with an extra man in the box. In game adjustments are what separates the good coaches from the great coaches. That being said im not giving up on the season by any means Florida will tell if Coach Jones is the guy Florida will know exactly how to play UT on offense and the box will be stacked and The gators will playing man to man with VH and Tarbor daring the Vols to beat them through the air. Hope Dobbs, Debord, and Jones realize this and gameplay accordingly

It's like deja vu. Except Butch doesn't have immaculate hair and orange pants. Instead of historical analogies, we get cheesy slogans. But the end result is the same. We lose games we should win and sunshine pumpers cry because people criticize the coach.

So you prefer losing by 24 points like we did last year? Even if the staff failed this game, that's a tremendous gap we closed in one year. One game shouldn't define these guys. Lets wait for the season to end before making bold declarations.

Tennessee is alot better now than 2 years ago when Oregon was embrassing us. We can now actually compete again against the elite of college football.

Wtf?? At what point did I say I preferred losing by 24 points? And what "bold declaration" did I make? Are you drunk? I told you why fans are upset...period.

Maybe not, but their schedule might make them look like one for a long time. They could easily make it to mid-November 9-0.

I don't think they are good enough to beat everyone they are "supposed to beat"

Not with a quarterback that throws like Jeff Driskel

And just because fan are upset doesn't mean they are crazy or knee jerkers. If anything it shows they care a lot for this program. Sure some go further then others:/. But the reason why they got to that certain level remain the same.

It's not just 1 game, in week 2!
Remember Florida last year-- they sucked but we lost to them.
OU is not a playoff team, maybe a little better than us maybe not, BUT we had a 17 point lead at home and lost.
When are we going to beat a team were not supposed to beat?
Seriously should we beat Florida?

What about usce weren't they suppose to beat us two years ago

If we are gonna lose one I'd rather it be out of conference

Spurrier dropped two he should win to Butch so he's obviously the worst coach ever not to mention all the leads they lost all last season. *if volnation logic was applied to everyone*

Seriously. And the same guy saying it's too early to make bold declarations was the same guy saying "We are going to kill Oklahoma" on Friday.

There is a difference between upset and the meltdown that's occured the last 2 days. I'm upset as well. I'm just mature enough to know it's one game and there's a lot of season left.

I believe in these players. They'll make us proud.

How much of that is you just hoping we're not that good?

Credible guys like Kirk Herbstreit and Tom Lunginbill have them in the playoffs. They are one year removed from being ranked #4 in the preseason and beating Alabama in a bowl game.

Competition. I'll probably say that before every team we play.

As a fan I prefer to always be positive when looking toward the future. Maybe that's why I can't stand most of you here.

The negativity of this fanbase is sickening.

I agree that a win over UF changes everything. OK was a non conference game. Doesn't destroy the season. But it's perfectly fine, in my opinion, to question how and why we lost. And if D4H really wants people to move on, he should quit starting threads about the OK game.

As am I. I'm 1000% behind the players. They deserved better than the "leadership" they got Saturday night.

Pretty much what I'm saying. If we finish 7-5 with more meltdowns like this week, Then I'll join everyone who is going crazy right now.

But we're in week 2. Lets see how the season plays out before we start firing everyone.

And if coaching performances like this saturday continue I'll join you. I just think the reaction the last 2 days were uncalled for.

I always felt I couldn't judge butch's performance as a coach until the end of 2016. We would know then whether he's the answer. Not week 2 of 2015.
