I think Striker is a non-factor on Saturday. Just too much going on in our offensive backfield this year. A set with Dobbs and Hurd, plus Pearson or Pig in motion, was enough to freeze defenses momentarily last year. Imagine that same set now with Kamara flanking Dobbs on the opposite side of Hurd. Dobbs can tuck it and run with two excellent RB blockers, flip/hand off to the man in motion, hand off to Hurd, hand off to Kamara (with Hurd blocking like a FB), or pass to the three WRs/one TE.

Compare that to last year where there were three possibilities: Worley hands off to Hurd/Lane, Worley throws it, and Worley hands it off to the man in motion. And that's all with an OL that offers zero protection.

I doubt we see much blitzing or stunting this weekend either. Quick passing game isn't worth taking defenders out of coverage when they are very unlikely to get there in time.

I remember some stunts but not many. We blitzed quite a bit when they got in the red zone. That's when some of their drives stalled and they had to settle for field goals.

Charlie Strong will leave TX after this year IMO. This move with him demoting his OC that has been with him the whole time after one game into the season only to promote Norvell of all people smells like a AD Patterson forced move. Patterson destroys everything he touches. This is 2 of Strongs right hand men forced out in less than 2 mths. Strong seems like a guy that would give it longer when the guy has been with him since Louisville

Maybe this is why Saban to Texas never happened...

JRMs sack was a blitz. Just a drive killing blitz to stop a TD. Cant remember another one.

Striker reminds me a lot of Renny Curran. A fan favorite because he is undersized and plays hard. But in reality he isn't going to do anything on Sundays. Hopefully Striker has the same outcome Curran had on his last trip to Neyland

If so, watch for Strong to South Carolina, and that would be a good hire for them. He has had an awful hand dealt at Texas, and boosters disapproving from the hire

When is the last time we hosted a top 25 team in Neyland of Oklahoma's caliber where there was no question we were at least on equal footing with them?

I can't remember.

Saturday will be so much fun!

Yep. Stoops can't help but talk crap about SEC. They have zero respect for our team right now. His cocky attitude/no respect attitude is going to get them hit in the mouth Saturday. This isn't the same TN team he saw last year. It's not even close.

Maggitt Ready for Oklahoma: In what seemed like a stare-down contest between the media and senior linebacker/defensive lineman Curt Maggitt, it was evident that the Oklahoma game couldn’t come soon enough for Tennessee’s defense. There have been several comments made by Oklahoma players and coaches being less than intimidated by coming to Neyland Stadium. When Maggitt was asked if the comments gave him a chip on his shoulder he smiled and simply said, “Yeah.”

Safe to say Maggitt and the Vols will be ready when the Sooners come to town Saturday.

"I think (Dobbs is) their whole offense," senior Eric Striker said. "You keep him contained, you get him; that’s the key. They want to do everything through him. He’s very versatile. We got to contain him and I think we will be successful."

I hope he thinks Dobbs is the only weapon we have and forgets about the running back who is 40 pounds heavier than him
