What is the most trusted online betting site?
My favorite is 5dimes. Quick payouts, can bet money line on big spreads (obviously low payout on each individual game) with a 25 game parlay max. I almost always bet money line so I like when I can include several low risk/high spread games (you have to be very careful to avoid the occasional huge upset -- such as Portland St over Wazzu St this past weekend; that spread was -31.5 pts -- thankfully I avoided). 5dimes is one of the highest rated sites. They also accept bitcoin deposits and payouts, which is important if you play with a lot of money because it's not as easily traceable by the IRS (at least not yet). Of course, you take risk with the value of the virtual currency when you use this as your deposit/withdrawal method, which I do now almost exclusively.
I also use bovada.lv but they have really clamped down on heavy bettors. They review each bet and don't open up the money lines until right before the games, so it's hard to bet with less risk using them. Many of the games they don't even offer money lines -- such as the Ohio St game tomorrow (at least, not yet). They are usually A rated though (meaning quick payouts and strong history of not slow paying).
I also use sportsbook.ag and wagerweb. Both are fairly well rated and I've had good experiences with them.
I've also had terrible experiences before. Two years ago I was slow paid and that made the difference in my season (continued betting into basketball season as I waited for payouts that were very limited and lost a lot of money, although I have to take part of the blame for continuing to bet). I will never use that site or an affiliate again.
All in all, I use four sites. If you bet sizeable amounts you must use multiple sites (learned that lesson too). I started a betting thread a few years back but it got moved to a forum that had little traffic so I stopped posting my bets/thoughts. I am basically a handicapper at this point and probably will remain one for the forseeable. That said, I would not recommend sports betting for a majority of people, as it is a roller coaster of an experience and can definitely take away some of the fun in watching sports. I've just learned too much to stop now and, although I have my occasional (I'm looking at you Stanford and UCF), I have become decent enough to usually make it worth my while. It takes patience if you play an entire season though.
Most (and perhaps you) just like betting a hundred or two on an occasional game or two. If that is your goal, I would recommend 5dimes.
Never, and I mean never, use a site rated lower than a C! I stick with B's and A's. Every site has its positives and negatives but if you play with under $1k you'd be hard pressed to make a poor decision on what site to use (but stick with A's and B's).
Sportsbook Ratings - Guide to the Best and Worst Betting Sites
Last piece of advice, be weary of the bonus offers. If it includes a rollover (where you have to put a certain amount of money at risk before you can withdraw) than avoid a bonus like the plague. I rarely accept a bonus. Sportsbook.ag offers a 25%-30% bonus on Thursdays. That bonus isn't a rollover and is essentially free money. That's the best bonus I've found.
