I'm watching the DB drills. Sutton my boy and all but Martin is the most naturally talented CB on the roster. If he starts(I expect him to), then he will have a huge season. Teams better not get to 3rd and long against us. This is a dangerous team we have this year. :)

That'll be a huge change from years past, when third and long was high probability for a First Down or Touch Down.

"The times they are a chaaaangiing." Bob Dylan

Impressed by the QB's. All lookin' good.

The speed at CB is unreal.

If Malone breaks out, like we think he will, North, Pig, Smith, Pearson, Malone, and Croom is a STOUT group.

If Preston is cleared and Jennings keeps doing what he is doing then you seriously have a legit 9 man constant rotation of fresh WRs when you add them and Johnson.

Watched the practice vids.

Justin Martin is a whole lot taller/bigger than I thought he was.

S Jones looks like he is gonna be a good one. I just hope we can keep both he and Dormady happy in the coming years.

We have some good possession/third-and-mid-range go-to options in pig/josh smith/wolf.

Come gather ’round receivers
Wherever you roam
And admit that the DBs
Around you have grown
They'll shadow your route
And then knock you prone
If your long-term health and self-confidence are worth savin’
Then you better start runnin’ or you’ll bleed and moan
For the times they are a-changin’

Come coaches and QBs
Who advance with the pass
And watch the Orange Swarm
Cause they're on your ass
And don't step up in the pocket
Cause that's where the Vols have all their mass
And all the quarterbacks, they will be sackin’
The Tennessee Vols are ready to win
For the times they are a-changin’

Later rednecks. I'm headed to Nashville to be a professional song writer.

An excellent reimagining of Mr. Dylan's classic. Well done sir

Reminds me it's time for some more haikus in here.

Just waded over into the Von update thread to read the epic Gary post. Can't believe I gave it the first like. It may literally change VN slang for years to come.

For the record, a "triple option" has been in the offense all along but it wasn't like we were going to see it with Worley back there. They brought it with Dobbs in against Alabama and immediately started gashing them for huge chunks of yardage. We also used it generously against Kentucky and Iowa with great success - it was the play with Dobbs at QB, Hurd at RB, and Pig or Pearson coming across on the jet sweep. No one could defend it, especially when Dobbs took off.

You're right. I meant the RB pitch option that seemed to be showcased in the practice video today. Or maybe I haven't been paying close enough attention. It looked new to me.
