My guess is nothing happens as far as reinstatement before today's practice at least publicly but Butch talks about it post-practice and gives us the "he will be back soon" comment

Yeah. I bet the university wants to put a little space between this announcement and his reinstatement. A week is probably a reasonable timeframe. Could happen today, though. Who knows.

Great news for Von. What a mess. Hopefully he can get back on the team quickly. Get in shape and make an impact against OU. Big relief for Von..

I would bet almost anything that Butch will give very little information during the press conference today.

Why should he continue to be punished when he was cleared of all charges?

Not reinstating him immediately is an injustice to Von.

Indecency violations from the University possibly. The war isn't over yet, but Von just won a battle.

Bingo! If he's not reinstated immediately, then UT is saying they disagree with the DA and think he might be guilty. He should be running routes tonight.

I don't see how they can justify not doing so. Dave hart isn't exactly the man if want putting me on his shat list

It's not HIS decision...make your voodoo doll with some Italian features. :shades:

If the university doesn't reinstate, they either think he did it and want to punish him beyond criminal charges or they're petrified of their own shadow (federal investigation) and are willing to piss off their own fanbase because they're afraid of getting in trouble for reinstating an officially innocent player.

Lawsuit

I think the University is just scared of bad publicity.

How would they get bad publicity for reinstating an innocent player? I agree with you, btw--just a rhetorical question, but it certainly seems like they're scared.

And the bad publicity they get from their own fans will outweigh any hyper liberal hack writing a column *****ing about his reinstatement and "rape culture" at UT.
