Based on this article...the NCAA does not flag the score. That was always my understanding too. The score is flagged by the ACT/SAT and/or individual testing centers. Thousands of scores get flagged each year and with millions of students taking the tests it can be months until a score is flagged. I remember a high school buddy (non-athlete) getting flagged because his score jumped and he was already in his fall semester. This can happen to anyone. Also, I keep seeing people reference 2 weeks until he retakes the test. But according the the ACT site the next test isn't until September so it could be mid-season before this is resolved. JMO
18? Wtf... An 18 will get you into college these days?? And, it was such a massive improvement they red flagged him??
I'm speechless.
I'm skeptical that a poster on VQ is privy to what Preston needs to validate his 2nd score but if it really is just an 18, my older sister who was the quintessential high school slacker and had to go to Pellissippi State community college after high school made a composite score of 20 on the ACT and even claims to have been hungover when she took the test. If you can't make an 18 on the ACT then you shouldn't be enrolled in a 4 year college.

No offense, but your sister is not Preston Williams. Whether we like it or not big time athletes can get into college a little easier than most. Everything boils down to money. Preston will make the university money and there is only a handful of people with his talents in the country. Unlike your sister and myself who are just another name in a database at a school. There are 1000s of slackers out there, only 1 P Willy. :hi:
Not sure that was his point...he was saying Preston shouldn't have any trouble verifying his score if all he needs is an 18
Hungover and didn't care and I made a 30. If I had scored decently in English, I would have gotten a really good score. I think I got a 20 in English.
Now I write for a living.
