Funny seeing Florida and G Southern each with 2 pts in coaches poll. Only 1 pt ahead of mighty UK lol.

Oh we are gonna straight curb stomp uf & start our own 10 year streak. Butch will own them.

All the paint on the rock falls off. The paint of the crappy years. And we finally are supposed to field a good team, and before the season starts, all the bad just suddenly falls off??

I'll take that as a sign. We are gonna do big things this year.

A future version of Time-traveling Dobbs, who has come back with professional qb skills to lead us to the promised land?

If any of you posters are named John or Sarah Connor....beware

You know guys, what IF we go 11-1 this year? I think it's not very likely due to inexperienced depth, but it's not impossible either. It's actually very far away from being impossible. Our first 22 can line up and play with anyone in the country. This is going to be a very exciting season and our upcoming recruiting classes and young depth point towards subsequent years being even more exciting.

"Cause I said it's GREAT to be a Tennessee Vol!"

This is the first year in a long time where I am openly excited and I don't have people from all directions on here or on ESPN telling me to relax and not to expect anything good at all.

This is a completely different feel going into the season than anything we've had in the last decade. Easily the most ready to explode fan base in the country. The writing is on the wall. I know it. You know it. Our QB knows it. Our coach knows it. The media knows it. Our opponents know it.

It's time to step on some throats. I'm ready to go down the list this season and get revenge over all the bastards that have beaten us over the years.

An 11-1 or even 10-2 season would seriously legitimize Butch Jones as an elite head coach. He's already an elite recruiter, but I guess his track record at CMU and Cincy is still viewed with skepticism due to him following Brian Kelly at both stops.

Winning big at Tennessee after inhering a total turd of a roster is the one thing separating him from being considered in the same echelon as the big boys of the SEC and the rest of CFB.

I think a big season like that also means we have at least one All-America selection and that Dobbs either ends up in NYC for the Heisman ceremony or enters 2016 as the favorite to win it.

And it would have a massive impact on recruiting, as even the 2016 class would likely have some last-minute shakeups heading into the final stretch before NSD. And Butch would be able to comfortably change his recruiting pitch from "Come to Tennessee and play day one" to "Come to Tennessee and win national championships."

Another thing to consider is that Tennessee would almost certainly have some assistant coaches poached, but would be in position to hire just about anyone to replace them.

For those that don't frequent the player threads, Kyle Oliver and UT have agreed to part ways.

Here's some somber perspective:

The last time UT was ranked preseason was 2008.

I had just stepped foot on campus as a Freshman at UT.

I've since graduated (with a victory lap) and have been working full-time in Nashville for 2 years...

It's about time things got back on track.

So it's your fault
