To Protect and to Serve...

Would there really be voluntary association though? You would either align with what the rich/money/rulers wanted or else. The only way you would be able to opt out would be to move.

Huff made a great point in the thread about the African lion that was killed by the poacher. That guy has basically had his life ruined for his action. That is social ostracism in action. That is how a free market will work.

I'd like for you to watch this short video.

I don't think they realize it. But the same philosophy they're using for cops is the same philosophy the far left is using for banning guns. Make a spotlight out of the bad instances to feed their agenda.

The gun grabbers want to remove a Constitutional right. The CopBlock crowd wants to make police officers more accountable and restore Constitutional rights for the citizens.

The tactics may be the same, but the consequences don't result in the loss of basic rights in both cases.

I've never said I didn't want laws. I have said I don't want to have political rulers who do nothing but play one side against the other and all the while rob us blind.

I want laws, I want order. I just think the free market can provide these things.

You can honestly look at our country, as it stands currently, and believe free market will work?

That makes me feel sorry for you.

This photo does not need an explanation. It speaks for itself! The police officer in this photo is, Fort Smith Police Department's 2014 Rookie of the Year, Jeffrey Blue Lum. On a day that was near 100 degrees (not counting the hellish humidity), Officer Lum was patrolling his beat when he noticed a citizen struggling to mow her yard. Officer Lum, without hesitation, parked his patrol car and jumped into action. He took the lawnmower and finished mowing the citizen's yard as she watched in disbelief. We cannot be prouder of your actions! You recognized a person in need and had the opportunity to lend a helping hand. You are a reflection of what a police officer stands for. Our fundamental duty is to serve mankind. This is one example of what Fort Smith Police Officers do every day for our citizens and visitors to the city. Take a moment to share and thank Jeff for his dedicated selfless service!

I'm sure deep down he's a d-bag just salivating at the idea of tazing someone then throwing them in a "cage".

Yeah, minus the institution of violence where these crimes are done today under the color of "law."

Nothing is perfect, but let's at least have a choice to opt out. Freedom is freedom, you cannot be less free. Either you're free, or you're not. If you cannot opt out, you're not free.
Voluntary association and the actual free market would be much better in my opinion.

It's been proven throughout history that the cream always rises to the top and that there will always be some form of government....it might be a dictatorship or a semi-representative government like we have now. I know which one I choose.

The copblock guys are a joke....it's ok to fight the system and want change but they go about it entirely wrong.

She had called the fire department first before calling the police.....it more than likely would have escalated like most disputes do.

If it had escalated to the point of violence, sure call the cops. Otherwise she's a busybody who should mind her own business.
But, she felt the need to call in on the regulations to enforce her will on other people. We must get rid of this ability. The snitch culture is killing this country.

The regulations are a good thing although there needs to be some common sense to them but in your world there is no cops to call.

Actually, there are. Protection agencies would be around offering their services to people that felt the need to have them.
Guess what, they'd actually be held accountable to the people who are voluntarily paying them.

Where is their accountability to the ones they are acting against?
