What agenda would that be? That piss poor, trigger happy cops should be dealt with?

Obviously making it blanket for all cops in all areas is dumb, but a story like this should have a spotlight on it.

Well, that never happens on here.

Oh wait...

Yeah, not really....

Saying that there are good cops is akin to saying there are good mafia hitmen.

Now, about that blanket statement being dumb. Care to elaborate?

"There is no such thing as a good assault rifle. It serves no purpose and only creates death and destruction. They are all bad." Various liberals

"There is no such thing as a good cop. They serve no purpose and only extort the citizenry and kill people that resist. They are all bad." You and various VN members

Most curious how that works isn't it?

What's the point? You have your belief system, I have mine. I believe the police are funded with stolen tax dollars I.e robbery. That makes the entire policing system invalid.

Since when is a cop property?

Actually, that post was directed at VSF since he was the one that said making blanket statements about all cops was dumb.

But what Snyper said originally is very much true although you'll object. You use the same philosophy as the left does when coming after your dastardly assault weapons. One person does a bad thing with one, hence all are bad. And all should be banned because of the inherent evil nature of the item itself.

You have beliefs that all cops are bad. One does a bad thing, hence they are all evil and should be banned because of the inherent evil nature of the system itself.

Since when are there no good cops?

Are you implying each and every daily interaction between police and the citizens is bad?

I'm implying that the very profession is bad. Are good people cops? Sure. its the profession that is bad. I've said that a million times here. I don't hate the cop is a person, I hate the profession.

When you were a cop did you ever enforce laws that directly contradicted with your conscience? If so, how do you abide that?

Ahh, you edited before I was able to make the age joke about "yore."

Anyway, no, I honestly didn't. Problem between our two trains of thought will be that you think many/most laws are needless (which I might even partially agree with you) and I tend to think there had to be some rule of law in order to continue as a society.

I've never said I didn't want laws. I have said I don't want to have political rulers who do nothing but play one side against the other and all the while rob us blind.

I want laws, I want order. I just think the free market can provide these things.

This cop was d-bag. He'll get what he deserves.

But, you didn't hear about the Cincinnati cop murdered a few weeks ago did you? Somehow, that wasn't news. He was a good, decent, upstanding policeman and man for that matter. Yet, his death doesn't get one second of coverage outside of this area.......

Though I do believe piss poor behavior by officer's should be high-lighted due to the amount of power we give them and the temptation to abuse it that comes along with it, I do agree that it is shameful of the media not to even mention Sonny Kim while reporting on another cop from the same city.

Thanks for mentioning it, or I would have never heard about it. He did sound like a pretty good guy.

This photo does not need an explanation. It speaks for itself! The police officer in this photo is, Fort Smith Police Department's 2014 Rookie of the Year, Jeffrey Blue Lum. On a day that was near 100 degrees (not counting the hellish humidity), Officer Lum was patrolling his beat when he noticed a citizen struggling to mow her yard. Officer Lum, without hesitation, parked his patrol car and jumped into action. He took the lawnmower and finished mowing the citizen's yard as she watched in disbelief. We cannot be prouder of your actions! You recognized a person in need and had the opportunity to lend a helping hand. You are a reflection of what a police officer stands for. Our fundamental duty is to serve mankind. This is one example of what Fort Smith Police Officers do every day for our citizens and visitors to the city. Take a moment to share and thank Jeff for his dedicated selfless service!

This proves my point from earlier. Your utilizing the bad cop spotlight, not to point out bad people, but to support your agenda that cops or law enforcement are not needed.

Yes, a profession established in theft and violence. As opposed to legitimately owned property that requires an owner to do evil with the object.
Preventive policing leads to our current prison population problem. America is 5% of the worlds population and we have 25% of the worlds prison population. Land of the free don't ya know....

Have you visited the countries where the criminals run free. And, not everything, not even a small percentage of what an American LEO involves "property".

Of course not. But, Im pretty sure you just did by comparing our prison population.

Sure Tim, the tax farm of America. Where everything we do is regulated and taxed. If you disobey these completely arbitrary commands of the ruling class, you'll be kidnapped (arrested) thrown into a cage. Or, if you resist the kidnapping, you'll be murdered.

I know, I know, I can always leave, right?

You realize that it would be no different in your idea though. Money (ruling class) would be the ones giving the arbitrary command, kidnapping, and murder.

Yeah, minus the institution of violence where these crimes are done today under the color of "law."

Nothing is perfect, but let's at least have a choice to opt out. Freedom is freedom, you cannot be less free. Either you're free, or you're not. If you cannot opt out, you're not free.
Voluntary association and the actual free market would be much better in my opinion.

Would there really be voluntary association though? You would either align with what the rich/money/rulers wanted or else. The only way you would be able to opt out would be to move.
