The truth behind Joc Bruce

Because I don't condone assault? Again, you people are insane. I've earned a wage since I was 10, never working outside the private sector and never requesting or allowing a dime from anyone. I'd suggest what you can do to yourself for thinking you know me, but we've enough coarseness as is.

No. It's because of your "wording"

im glad that you haven't taken a dime.... But that hasn't got a thing to do with what I asked

If it's true that Bruce stepped on the T and whoever took care of it in this way....1 thing is for sure, I bet no one else steps on our beloved power T that's a fact jack.......

Players get tossed from the game for striking another player, don't they? They can go full-tilt into each other within the rules. Assault is not condoned, thanks.

I'm quoting this statement to use your words against you. Yes, players get tossed from a game for hitting. They get punished in an appropriate manner. They don't just get kicked off the team. It's not considered assault.

In this case, you don't know who was involved. You don't know who started the altercation. You don't know how the coaches handled the punishment to either player. Seems to me, there's a lot you don't know.

You should pick another sport - maybe golf or ice skating but definitely not football where they hit each other for 60 mins. Oh dear. Did you see that mean Barnett drag a QB.

You don't condone violence yet you are on a forum dedicated to one of the most violent sports in existence. I find people like you the most annoying of our society. You sit there with some supposed deap thought sprinkled with a decent vocabulary as if your ability to use a thesaurus makes you in some way superior. You have a problem with two grown men having a physical altercation and they along with the rest of us that agree with and understand the situation are obviously dragging our knuckles in a cave because we haven't evolved to your level. I bet you don't have a problem with 18 year old men leaving their families to go put a bullet in some other young mans head to protect your right to have and be able to voice such an ignorant opinion of how the real world works. This is a violent world we live in period and people like you are absolute proof in the fallacy of Darwinism. The only reason you're able to exist is because you are protected by those not afraid to fight. As it relates to football, I don't want a single person on our team that's not willing to stand up and fight in support of the tradition of the VOLUNTEERS. You know, the young men that went down to Texas and KILLED other young men in support of those that shared the same values of freedom.

If you'll read from more respected posters, they believe that Bruce stepped on the T (even multiple times) after being told not to. Show some respect to the school where you are getting a free education and the chance of a lifetime to play football for a great team. Kid is a football player and can handle himself. Get over it. There's a reason Bruce is kicked off the team and no one else. I trust the coach's judgment/assessment, not yours

Read my post BEFORE you reply.

If being jacked up by a wide receiver because you stepped on the T and then mouthed off, stupid on the part of an 18 year old true freshman against a 21 year old who has 3 solid years of weight training and 40+ mos of maturity is that bad... Kid ought to thank his lucky stars he wasn't on Al Wilsons team... Al frequently "Bullied" fellow players, almost on the sidelines a few times, or Will Overstreet... They woulda killed him...!

I'm giving you 2 thumbs up and a thumbs down. The part in bold lost me. You are on the internet right now, voicing your opinion, because of intellectual thinking. The military is more than happy for any technological advantage provided by intellectual thoughts.

I agree a thousand percent on giving respect to those of us with aggressive abilities and the bravery to use them. But I damn well know that it works both ways. The type A v type B personalities is b.s. We perform at our best and succeed to our capabilities when we have the best of each, doing what they do best.

Darwins biggest mistake was his choice of wording. It is truly the survival of the most capable to adapt. If you are/have been in the military, then you know exactly what I'm talking about.

This isn't war. This is a game being played by student athletes. A 22 year old man that's been lifting in an SEC weight program for 4 years punching an 18 year old kid half his size is a punk move by any measure. I appreciate the attitude of defending tradition, but not at the expense of clocking some incoming rookie that's been a little mouthy. Croom, or whoever the mystery assaulter is, is wrong if this played out as described. Pull out all the ridiculous war comparisons you want, but don't expect somebody with more than ten brain cells to buy it.

I can't read 23 pages but I say we get "Dont Tread On Me" sewed below the power T on our flags. That would be not only a reminder, but totally bad a$@

Charger I'm not contradicting your statement at all. I agree that the world is better of with all types of people. I just have a strong belief that contrary to his line of thinking we have evolved, in to a society in which the strong protect the weak. Not that all intellects are weak either. Some of the great leaders of all time were both intellectual and violent. The best weapons designer in the world couldn't survive against a man with a knife if he is unwilling or not capable of using said weapons. My statement that you bolded is from that perspective. It really wasn't meant to be a sly as much as it was to point out that we do need both types of people. His opinion was that people like us weren't needed the way I took it at least.

I'll take it either way though, you still gave me a net of a thumbs up lol. I will shut up now in hope that the thread gets back to topic.

You guys are sad you would think that someone would have some concerns about a kid getting bullied. But all that come out is good bye. And make jokes about him. If your family or child goes through this make sure you have the same attitude. Go VOLS

He's a grown man, if he wants to leave after getting punched then so be it. Quit calling it bullying he is not 6 years old. Sounds like Joc needed to man up. And yes I tell my son the same thing, You either stand up to a bully or live with being bullied. I get so tired of this victim mentality. The best way to stop a bully is pop him in the mouth, it's the only way you can get thier respect. I promise if you hit a bully in the mouth then he proceeds to beat the crap out of you he will still have more respect for you than if you run and tell.

Don't take me wrong either friend. The 2 thumbs up remark was because I truly understand where you are coming from. For whatever reason, we are born with different skills and different levels of aggression and bravery. Like you, I hate it when those with more scientific based attributes, underestimate those who take all the risks. I just wanted to make sure that the intellectual contributions were not overlooked. The best of each (and respect of each) is what reaches the pinnacle of success. And thanks for your great post. :good!:

Honestly if you're a victim of bullying you probably aren't going to be a successful D1 football player.

I wonder if your child would have wanted to go to class if Croom punched them in the mouth

Yes. Because going to class and getting punched are completely irrelevant to one another. I don't believe a word of your original post. Not because you didn't talk to his mom, but because you can't just assume Joc's side or his mom's side of a story is the "100% truth". Even if you grew up with them. They're going to deflect fault from him and place it elsewhere. That's what people do.

I believe Joc wasted an opportunity. That's what I believe. No ones mom needs to tell me that.
