The cops are upholding the laws that elected officials put in place. If you have a problem with which laws are being broken and police are enforcing... then maybe you should be attacking the politicians instead. Cops are in the same boat as the military.. they might not agree with the politics.. but they have a job to obey orders.

They don't have to arrest and lock up every person that breaks one of these petty laws.

The cops, if they really were of the people, could very easily come together and say that we will no longer engage in enforcing these petty offenses. Why should a cop put himself at risk by pulling over some rolling stop sign violator at 2:00 am? it is because the cop culture fosters this overzealous activity. If cops had their way, they would probably want more laws created so that they could re-enact some childhood fantasy of busting skulls (I'm getting carried away a bit, but still). These guys could very easily be the necessary check/balance needed between the legislators and the people. But instead, they side with the lawmakers, not the people. And I hate to say it, but most cops have a disdain for the public. That is why they are so eager and aggressive in their enforcement of laws.

Don't give me this "duty bound" nonsense.

I'm sure force was required with all her cussing and resisting....maybe cops should use pretty please

If his intention was to just give her a warning anyways, why not just say, "Look, its not even worth arguing over. Just slow down, use your turn signal and have a nice day, ma'am?"

I would guess it's bc people that behave that way usually have something to hide......either way it doesn't matter he was well within his duty to take the action that he did.

Her face would have never been forced on the ground.

How do you know that? Ever been around a white woman cussing and kicking a cop? I was but in a different situation....the woman was shoplifting and she was most certainly slammed face first into the ground. Wasn't their also a video of a white model that was slammed into the ground busting up her face in this very thread?

Wow, you sound extremely racist....what do you think if a white woman had of behaved the same way?

I'm not for cops stopping people from going along their merry ways (especially at night, but that is another discussion all together) for something as simple and trivial as this.

The cops are putting themselves and the driver and the rest of the motorists in danger with every traffic stop.

It was pretty awesome, but sadly if that were in America, and especially if the guy running his mouth like that was black, he'd likely get tazed at the very least if not brutalized in some other form or fashion.

There you go jumping to conclusions....he wasn't physically resisting much besides running his mouth.

If that person does something dangerous with an officer than what would they be willing to do against another citizen....I would rather the police deal with them.

Of course it happens but for lane change violations?

Yeah, and those cops deserved to get all kinds of flak thrown their way, as well.

She wasn't detained bc of that

But you did say that people that act belligerent usuall have something to hide... which is why instead of letting her go on her way, he decided to have her get out the car.

Again, if his intent was to just give her a warning, he could have gave her the warning and just let he drive off...

He was 300 pounds and not allowing himself to be hand cuff....I'm sure the cops would rather him go into the car like this guy instead of having to physically do it

There was no need for him to even be going to jail to begin with!!!

Why is that point not sinking in to your thick skull? He was accused of selling loose cigarettes.

That guy wasn't small, he was much larger than those officers. And you must have been too busy laughing to really see what happened. The cops did have to physically force him in that car. He wasn't throwing punches, but he was resisting. Just like Garner.
