Iran deal unlikely: what's next?

@MPPregent: Text on access to sites: "When necessary & where necessary..." Iran get's to decide when & where inspectors can gain access - nice work Iran

A Middle East security & terrorism analyst

Per what is being reported this morning the inspectors are to decide when and where.

It is probably a bad deal. I do think we should see what is in the deal before judgment is made. As the old saying goes, even a broke click is right twice a day. It may be bad, it may be good, we need to know what is in it first

@stephenfhayes: "Nonsense." Former Clinton admin State Dept official, Jamie Rubin, on Obama admin claims that the deal will lead to better Iran behavior.

@DavidKenner: Rouhani says Iran pursued 4 goals: Continue nuke activity, end sanctions, annul UNSC resolutions, and remove nuke issue from UNSC. Got it all.

@WilliamsJon: As part of #IranDeal, sanctions against IRGC chief Qasem Soleimani, revolutionary guards & Quds Force lifted. #IranTalks

I heard the same criticism on Fox this morning, but as usual no specifics and just vague, unnamed sources. I want to know more before I decide.

Which means I can never be a Republican.

Lifts billions in sanctions, allows them to engage in arms trafficking. Intercontinental missiles, existing involvement in places like Yemen, Syria, and Iraq - all green-lighted.. They can stock up and then simply renege on the deal if they ever truly honor it in the first place.

No, but neither do the GOPers, and that has sort of been my point all along here.

"Your point" has always been to stir up **** and flap your gums about your agenda that the Right is always in the wrong and just a bunch of racist, overreacting, inhibitors to Obama being the greatest American to walk the face of the Earth.

Sure - absolutely. But also, does the mere fact that a deal was reached not count as a positive step? I think it does. Obviously, if the deal is horrible it doesn't matter - but I think peaceful negotiation will always be the better option. Especially in the middle east.

Wonder where all this uranium will be going?

The outgoing Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the Secretary of Defense are vehemently opposed to a deal with Iran. They probably have a clue what they're talking about

Article II, Section 2, Clause 2 of the United States Constitution, includes the Treaty Clause, which empowers the President of the United States to propose and chiefly negotiate agreements, which must be CONFIRMED by the Senate, between the United States and other countries, which become treaties between the United States and other countries after the advice and consent of a supermajority of the United States Senate.

"Neither the President nor the Senate, solely, can complete a treaty; they are checks upon each other, and are so balanced as to produce security to the people." - Founding Father, James Wilson

@ThomasErdbrink: Follow me live from the streets in Tehran where will be tweeting possible nuclear celebrations, scheduled to start in some hours.

LG... When are our celebrations scheduled? Considering 0 announced the deal when 95% of America was sleeping, my guess is the celebration is at the AFB Golf Course

Not necessarily. I will wait to see the details of the deal before I can think its a win or a potential major loss, but just because a deal was made doesnt mean its a positive step IMO.

If you gauge the wisdom of the agreement by how others react, instead of measured and responsible review of it, then you too can be a GOO Senator.

It's pretty clear that he completely disregards it. I suspect the Obama-bots will find any type of excuse to justify this.
