The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

If we beat Florida the next two years I bet we will be far more condescending and obnoxious

At least we have sniffed victory in the past 80 something years unlike vandy. There's a difference between Tennessee and Vandy and that is a tradition of great football. Vandy never had great football until james Franklin. That's why they were so obnoxious.

please tell me that guy is just being sarcastic with that article lol. No way hes serious haha

Forr a crackpot writer like myself, the appeal behind a bold predictions post needn't explanation: Few, if any, will take my auguring seriously (nor should they); but, should any of my cockamamie declarations manage to indeed come to fruition, I am thereby afforded bragging rights which I will undoubtedly cash in on, shoving it into the mugs of those who denounced or doubted that I, of unnatural clairvoyance, was right about at least one thing concerning college football this season. That one thing might be that Vanderbilt will start its season 6-0.
opening paragraph. click baiting the 5 vandy fans, and anyone who knows how ridiculous it is.

Found this article from the end of June. The poor writing style, blatant homerism (academics this, academics that), and wishful thinking make this both an amusing and sad read.

Vanderbilt Commodores Football, Basketball, and Recruiting Front Page

Two of the better players the article build up as being Commodore leans/absolute studs each committed to other schools (Kansas State and Duke) within two weeks of this article being written.

Most of the other kids listed have no business being in the SEC, let alone most FCS conferences.

I feel like this is really going to be Vandy's year to take the East. There are a lot of unknowns with this team which will greatly confuse their opponents plus they won't have the pressure of performing in front of actual people especially at home.

Ralph Webb is going to get 300 carries this yr lol

Thats alot of carries for a 12 game schedule bc we know thats all the games they will play.

Someone should find the guy and interview him. I would love to know his thoughts on Vandy.

I would imagine he was once an optimistic Vandy fan like these kids until years and years of 2-10 seasons wore him down. He got a brief taste of success from 2011-2013, but then Derek Mason came along and brought him back to reality.

I legit feel bad for them...their glory years were highlighted by a 14 point win over NC State in the music city bowl. That was their high point. That plain hurts.

"And the World Cornhole Championships are in (JUST guess)...
12:04 PM
.....where else could they be but, Knoxville, Tennessee? ohlord

Lord, and I wonder why every other state in America, plus every other country in on the planet as a whole believe that all Tennesseans run around in dirty, holy overalls sans shoes, teeth, deodorant and soap, with a corn cob pipe hanging out the side of their tooothless mouth hole, with a cane pole propped on their shoulder, also sans any BAIT with them, of course.

No, don't blame the Tennessee Pride Sausage kid, blame KNOXVILLE, dammit, because that's where it "all" originated-- literally."

This guy must be the life of the tailgate/party. One of the biggest stretches I've seen on vandymania trying to disparage Knoxville/UT. Who doesn't like drinking some beer and playing corn hole? At first I thought well this guy is a Vandy fan so he's never actually seen what tailgating is, but then I remembered that Dudley is any away team's home away from home.

I travel all over. Knoxville has a very good reputation with almost everyone I talk to. Market Square, UT campus, and the Smokies are often brought up when I talk to people.

Nashville is a great city also. Heck, I really like the whole state of Tennessee. It doesn't do us any good to bash another city in OUR state.

As for feeling bad for Vandy, I just don't see them as any threat to the long term goals of our program - we will beat them for the next 20-30 years most likely.

wtf is this guy smoking: AlbertCamus
The current Jughead could turn out to rival him as an undeveloper of talent and a mal-deployer of resources though.
talking about butch jones not being able to develop talent. laughable, extremely laughable. Justin Coleman had serious talk about being drafted in the NFL. look at the turn around of our DBs, LBs, DL, TE, RB even QB. and misusing resources, Jones has been USING the resources, and quite well too.

You have to realize they have produced close to 10 NFL ready players in the last 20 years so they have very high expectations understandably but they have to realize that not all programs are as polished as Vandy in improving 2 star talent

this is apparently from ESPN even though the link didn't work at all for me.

Austin Peay (98%)

Tossups (6):
Western Kentucky (62%)
Houston (60%)
MTSU (54%)
Kentucky (53%)
Missouri (38%)
South Carolina (32%)

Likely Losses (5):
Florida (23%)
Texas A&M (19%)
Georgia (18%)
Tennessee (13%)
Ole Miss (11%)

it is strange that MTSU is a more difficult game than either Houston or WVU. most actually are saying these chances are way too high.

I've said it many times in this thread, but Vandy fans honestly believe that we have had Bama level talent the entire time we've been down, and that Fulmer, Kiffin, Dooley, and Jones have all squandered it.
