'15 GA WR Preston Williams (UT Signee 2/4/15)

This is going to be the best WR unit in the SEC if Malone and Preston play to their potential. You would be hard pressed to find a more talented underclassmen duo than those 2.

Combine that with a healthy North, healthy Smith, healthy Croom, reinstated VP and the always reliable Pig Howard.....good god.

With a weapons arsenal as deep as iron man, DeBord will have to be a certified idiot to not run an explosive offense. Love it.

We could lay down nasty beatings on teams this year.

IF....the o-line does their job. Our season rides on the big uglies showing vast improvement.

They'll be ok. Not spectacular, but deeper, stronger, and more experienced. If they are incrementally better... Just in line with normal progression and expectations, we'll have a very solid season.

The o-line will be the difference in an 8 win season and the SEC Championship. We have the pieces to do it at every other position

You think MLB will be alright?

I think we'll see some growing pains from whoever takes the spot, but if we had an OL like the 2013 unit, would anybody be expecting anything besides a trip to Atlanta? Even with a new starter at MLB and freshmen DTs being heavily relied on.

Yes plus we will be in nickel the majority of the time with only 2 linebackers (Reeves-Maybin and Bates) so that will help.

Maggitt/Lewis/Vereen
DOB/Williams/Mixon
Mckenzie/Tuttle/Vickers
Barnett/Phillips/Taylor

JRM/McDowell/Berry
Kirkland/Bynum/Bryant
Bates/Weatherd/Sapp

Sutton/Foreman
Berry/Mcneil
Randolph/Kelly
Martin/Moseley
Gaulden/Abernathy

I'm curious as to why you put berry over Kelly, being Kelly has more live game experience.

Kelly has more game experience, but Berry has more game-changing ability. Just because Kelly was a better safety as a true freshman doesn't mean Berry won't be the better player by midseason

Kelly is better. Showed it game changing ability most all season last year when given chance.

We'll see how it plays out. I'm not really sure which will end up being the better safety, but I'm certain that Berry is the more athletic of the two. That could give him an edge. But Kelly probably has the better instincts at safety right now since he's played it longer.

It should be great to see how the battle for 2nd/3rd safety goes this season. I think we're in a bit of a no lose situation any way you slice it.

No Jakob Johnson in the 3-deep? Talk about a fall from grace.

Is Mixon gonna be a DT? Or play both DE and DT?

Back in the spring it sounded like the plan was for him to focus on DE. He seems like someone who could slide over to the middle in certain situations if needed but primarily a DE moving forward (unless it has changed again since the spring).

That's what I thought, thx..... I hope he can play a little DT, we need the depth for sure

Eh, I don't think it necessarily means that. He played last year more out of desperation than anything else. In no normal scenario will a true freshman with his football experience get serious downs at MLB for an SEC team.

He is athletic, but probably always needed a redshirt year. it's especially important as they try to see where he can help us the most, and where he is best suited to play. Hopefully he can get it this year, and can help us out next year.

That's one persons opinion not the coach somo wouldn't count him out yet. I think part of problem is.......what position does he play? So hard to really project him when you have plenty of other studs to choose from that you know play that position. He might be a guy you move to DE and redshirt

Love that secondary. I think TK/Randolph is more likely than Randolph/Berry though.

I'm just guessing between Berry and Kelly. I think they are both going to be studs. Evan may have had the best spring out of anyone in the secondary.

i wouldnt mind JJ getting a RS this year. Let him grow and develop if he isn't drastically needed.
