Point Guard by Committee - RB

Gray never said that, many thought he was a Tennessee lean but many thought that about Austin Nichols, myself included. The fact is he ended up at Houston and never committed or signed with Tennessee, and like I said, in 12 months on the job Tyndall failed to sign 1 PG while managing to run off 2 top 150 rated PG's.

So it seems very safe to assume gray would have been a vol with Tyndall

His scholly would have come back in 2 years anyway. I would feel much better if we had him if turner doesn't make it

How is it safe to assume, that's speficially why I mentioned Izundu, many assumed he was Tennessee bound, where did he end up?

And Gray would've been a 3 year guy, not 2, I feel confident Barnes fills that scholarship with a much better player in this 2016 class.

If turner doesn't make it Barnes deserves the criticism for the not having another pg on the roster not Tyndall because he was going to add 1.

That's the only point I was making

No one is denying that, but you seemed pretty defensive when it was pointed out that Tyndall didn't sign a PG and failed to retain Thompson and Austin Jr.

So yeah, if Turner doesn't make it in, that's on Barnes. If we don't have don't have a PG come November, that's on Tyndall and Barnes, more so on Tyndall since he was here for a year and had already had 2 PGs when he took the job. If that's not the way you see it, agree to disagree.

Nearly all the services had him being a heavy lean to us. Beating houston wouldn't have been an issue IMO

Where did Izundo end up??

I didn't realize he was a 3 year guy

You're such a fraud, a liar, and a charlatan. I NEVER blamed Tyndall for CRB's recruiting. I blamed him for the lack of a PG on the current roster and yes, there's a difference.

CRB recruited and signed a PG within a month of taking the job. Tyndall didn't sign one in a year's time, ran off the one signed PG from Cuonzo Martin's final class, and had the most experienced PG he had transfer without much effort to retain him.

Great post, but had to google charlatan :)

And all the services had Izundu pegged to Tennessee as well, until they sign you just don't know. And yes, Gray was a 3 year guy, I mentioned that in my initial post that I wouldn't wanna tie up a scholarship for 3 years on a mid major talent.

What is a little troubling is that RB recruited a point guard with academic issues at Tennessee considering the Texas internal investigation that may turn into an NCAA investigation.

How about lying to the AD during the hiring process . Does that classify as "troubling"

Jarnell Stokes was constantly praised for the time he spent in the gym, he actually passed on going out partying while on his visit to Tennessee to hit up Pratt Pavilion at 2am, he however is no PG.

If my girlfriend was as hot as his and liked bball, I would prefer the gym over going out too. lol

It blows my mind Barnes didn't take a 2nd PG this past spring and yes I'm talking ab0out Tookie Brown. UT needs more than one PG and now with Turner's academic situation coming to light I'm getting madder by the minute.

Dude,
you tend to ignore the "fact" that Coach T had his point guard for last season until he tore his acl.

Lolololol at you, of all people, finding anything CRB has done troubling given that your Tiger Beat idol, in one year's time managed to get himself fired, lied to his future employer, his former employer, the NCAA, and torpedoed the backcourt to a point that for a second straight year, we are forced to trot some SGs and SFs out to run the point.

As for Turner's academics, I'm fairly certain the holdup is likely due to reclassifying (twice I believe) and piecing together his transcripts from his Alabama high school, Arlington Country Day, and IMG Academy.

Tyndall thought so highly of Lopez that he didn't even give him a scholarship or try to get him to stay for a 5th year.

I've brought this up to him several times, and he simply ignores it. He blames the injury for him not getting a scholarship and then says Lopez "lost interest" after Tyndall was fired (which he completely made up).

Nevermind that I posted an article that quoted Tyndall stating well before he was fired that Lopez wasn't coming back and one of the reasons why was because it was too expensive for him to pay his own way. Meaning....Tyndall wasn't offering him a scholarship.

Wasn't it said he just took the test recently??

If so that could be a major issue

Yes, a walk on point guard, who's eligibikity would now be up which would do Tyndall zero good this upcoming season if he was still here, is clearly the answer to all problems

Could be an issue as well. These kids that reclassify and attend multiple schools should always make fans nervous. Having not taken his standardized test only compounds the issues. Here's hoping it all gets worked out sooner rather than later.
