'15 GA WR Preston Williams (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Safe travels GFW I appreciate the info you bring and letting us have some insight. GO VOLS brother!

I think Azzanni will be fine. He's pretty highly thought of. He's a young energetic bright mind. And he's coached under some good coaches.... Butch, Bielema, and Urban.

I want to see North take that next step as a WR. Put it all together.

He could if he could avoid injuries. Has been taken out the last two years for like the last 1/4 or 1/5 of the year. It's a shame. Shoulder this past year and I think the same thing his freshman year. Rumors have it Butch is gonna tone down practice during the season some. IDK if it will make a difference or not.

Our WR group didn't look bad. Don't know why people blame Azzani...... As many injuries as he was hit with and they still didn't play bad collectively. Pig Howard and Croom both look much much better under him.

Agree. This group should be one of the best this year. Let's hope Dobbs gets the long ball accuracy down. I'm betting that he will.

Question:
Do we know if Preston is healthy enough to play this year or will he more than likely redshirt? Maybe someone has already commented on this but I missed it.

Apparently he's already one of the fastest on the team. I think the coaching staff will ease him into game plan but I wouldn't doubt if we see a couple deep shots to P Dub against BGSU.

It has been reported he's way ahead of schedule rehabbing and impressing so unless there's a setback it looks like he could play this year.

With an injured receiving corps, no time to throw the football, and Worley as QB he hasn't exactly been given an opportunity to show how good he actually is. Pig Howard is 100x better since Z had gotten here. He's really been the only one consistently healthy

At some point in comes down to results and not excuses right? I believe he is responsible for every WR on our roster. (Minus Smith and Croom)

Can you please explain the difference between a reason and an excuse? Maybe I'm just confused on the distinction. Because if these things are just excuses, you're saying our WR corps was decimated by injuries last year because Azzani is a bad WR coach. You're saying our O-line got blown up, our QB got consistently rocked, and we gave up more sacks than any other team in the SEC because Zack Azzani is a bad WR coach. You really think these are "excuses" people are inventing to mask the fact that Azzani is a terrible WR coach? You really think hiring a better WR coach is going to make our WRs immune to injury and turn Kyler Kerbyson into a prototypical 6'7 LT? If it will, I'm right there with you. Azzani sucks. No more excuses.

Were you happy with Josh Malone's performances last year? What about the fact Croom has yet to play to his size? Remember that play against Oklahoma? How about little to no progress from Marquez North from his freshman to sophomore year? We had one WR in the SEC top 15 in receiving in terms of yards.

You know this is being used against us in recruiting. I hope opposing coaches are your "reasoning" but I'd say they're using more factual information.

I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with your opinion on Z, but there were enough snaps last year where our WR were healthy to evaluate their progression/development. You act like our top 7 were injured every single snap the entire year.

And there are ways to evaluate WR regardless of how every other unit is performing. You're basically saying that no one can have any opinion on Z from last year, there's literally no metric or observation that can be made about our WR development from the 13 games we played because our OL was bad.

I'm not a football analyst, so my opinion would be very uneducated, but there is plenty of evidence to make an informed opinion on the direction of our WR group's development.

The fact that Butch gave him a promotion affect any of that?

Do you just not read updates from VQ or GFW? Pig Howard and Malone were the only two receivers healthy last year. The only 2. Pearson had nagging injuries all year, and it was obvious. North only was targeted 2-3 times a game from Worley and was hurt almost all year. Malone was a TRUE FRESHMAN going against the best players in college football in the SEC, not to mention VQ and GFW talked about how his mentality was not up to par. Josh Smith was INFINITELY better per reports and the few games he played until he was hurt. Croom hasn't played up to his size with Hinshaw or Z coaching. At what point is Z to blame if Croom doesn't use his size and high point a football like he is taught? Z isn't out there doing it for him, maybe Croom just isn't an aggressive human being... Pig was basically the only one healthy consistently and if you can't see he has improved dramatically since Z took over for Hinshaw then you need to open your eyes. We had JUSTIN WORLEY throwing the football. By the time Dobbs actually got here, half our receiving corps was sidelined or playing hurt. Isn't it crazy when we finally get healthy in the tax slayer bowl the receivers look good? We were able to take the top off the defense and receivers were able to get open with Dobbs at QB. Not to mention the oline was slaw all year. You wanna exile Z when if you were in the same situation, you'd be defending yourself to hell and back about the cards you were dealt. There is a reason we fought so hard to keep coach Z this offseason, even though a number of teams wanted him. That doesn't just happen because he can't coach. Maybe teams were impressed with the job he did because every receiver on the roster besides Malone was injured at some point last year.

Malone battled nagging injuries almost the entire year as well.

A reason is an explanation you agree with and an excuse is one you don't agree with. Simple
