'15 GA WR Preston Williams (UT Signee 2/4/15)

Wasn't the knock on him from rivals that he wasn't fast? Yet he is in one of our top speed group in workouts going against Gaulden, foreman, Martin.... Good ole Woody wood pecker

Speed was mentioned as well as health concerns from his injury. It was pretty obvious someone at Rivals had a strong opinion of Preston. Everyone else in the country seemed pretty convinced he was a top 50 player. Rivals has nearly 20 receivers ahead of him, which is a sham.

I thought the same thing. Pretty legit.

How can you on checkerboards in any capacity? That's like our thing.

To each his own. We'll agree to disagree ad that's ok with me. I don't consider the checkerboard design "our thing" just because it's in our end zones. The end zones are one thing. On any apparel is just straight up tacky and incredibly cheap looking. Again, just my 2 cents. Different strokes for different folks.

I'm more on the conservative spectrum of uniform changes (obviously!) but I didn't mind the black jerseys a few years back and I like smokey gray uniforms. I'm not a staunch traditionalist when it comes to our uniforms so I would welcome a smokey gray or anthracite helmet with a carbon fiber/matte finish or something like that. Wouldn't mind seeing them go back to black cleats either (like them better than white).

At the end of the day, if they are winning then I could care less about their fashion. Go Vols!!!

This kid will be our best wide receiver in a year. If he wasn't injured, would have been a top 10 overall player. From what I hear, he is smart and hardworking too.

Excited for PW and the Vols.

Yeah I've said all along he's the best WR from this class and it isn't close. I don't always hype our recruits up, but Preston is one I strongly believe in. Kahlil is another.

GBO Had a dream last night. P Willy housed the first TD Gainst the Sooners on an end-around from about 15 yards out. Crazy Debord. Calling end arounds in the redzone.

Preston could be AJ Green good, IMO.

I typically don't like when comparisons are made like that, either.

Meanwhile, Justin Martin and Preston Williams have added an absurd element of top-end speed. During recent running sessions, Vols players who could run two laps around the field at Neyland Stadium in 90 seconds or less scored rewards for the whole team; it shaved off how many laps everyone had to run. Williams and Martin both completed the task, and the Vols collectively got a bit of a reprieve. Vincent Perry and Malik Foreman also have continued to impress with speed.

Hard to imagine Preston not playing a fairly significant number of snaps this season. Sounds like he's ready to go even if he's not 100%.
