Wasn't sure where to put this and didn't think it deserves its own thread but, dang kids can't even set up a lemonade stand. What's next Texas going to need a permit to take a dump?

I also find this statement from mom confusing.

I wonder if they were giving away lemonade but gladly taking donations totally separate from the sale of lemonade if the state could intervene? I mean... the state isn't kicking down the door of a BBQ to enforce sanitation standards on hamburgers and mojitos.

Also, that statement should have just read:

I think a 7 and 8 year old should be able to try to make money for their own cause

I pretty much despise the state of Texas, almost to the same level as CA, NY and CT so I wouldn't be surprised that the mom didn't know how old her kids are.

Well, she states above that they're 7 and 8 but she worded it poorly.

This is the difference between 2 different kinds of people:

- Person caught selling food items without adhering to sanitation standards.

First person just whines and cries about regulation.

Second person just finds a way to circumvent regulation so they're not selling food items but what I was alluding to with giving it away and accepting donations separately.

Given the rhetoric in this decidedly-not-an-echochamber... this is in direct contrast to how, at least select US precincts, work. Just have a knife on you but you aren't making an aggressive move? You deserve 3 in the chest. Be unarmed and approach a police officer with anything above a cowering dog-crawl? You deserve 3 in the chest?

But then again, what would the police chief of a high immigrant population and otherwise ethnically diverse and high-crime Manchester, UK know about policing multiple cultures, languages and high crime area?

A police officer approached Phoenix Low, 22, about a city ordnance requiring people with alcoholic beverages to remain indoors. When the police officer went to arrest Low for committing the victimless crime, Low escaped.

The police officer gave chase and caught up with Low, but this time when he attempted to put Low in handcuffs, a crowd gathered and pulled the officer from the young man, preventing his arrest. Low was able to break free once more before eventually being captured and charged with resisting arrest.

Because it's a law whether you agree without or not.....what was the purpose of running from the cops?..... What was the purpose of preventing the cop from arresting the guy? This kind of **** is setting a very bad precedent and you cop haters are going to reap what you sew eventually
