I'm lost...was the post he was disputing stating that we don't like orange? Or that every now and then an alternate would be embraced? Never recall a Tennessee fan hating on Orange. Does that help? :hi:

He was debating a "traditionalist," who was sticking to orange and white. But he was also making a generalization about the importance of gray.

Orange and white are and always will be our colors...the smokey colored gear sells well and the players like wearing it as a change of pace. If you want to argue orange/white variations only that's fine. I just don't think you're going to end up happy. I cheer for my team no matter the haberdashery. :yess:

Reminds me of this old dude back in the early 80s that griped to me after Sunday School that he didn't like them using that new NIV Bible. He said, "They just cain't go changin' the Word of God like that."

Don't know if this has been discussed if it has then sorry I missed it, but people on Rivals are saying Hubbs said on 104.5 that the home jerseys will contain three colors. From what I have taken from deer park I expected the normal home and always to basically be the same. Any truth to it?

The new scipt leads me to believe the number font will have the same "state edge" look to it and would verify DP'S Arkansas and Baylor predictions.

Also, that Nike symbol someone posted is awesome.

Answer:

I didn't say the home uniform would have three colors. I said that Nike is using three colors with Tennessee. Orange, white and a gray (not black). The home uniform will be orange and while unless they are wearing an alternate uniform like the smokey gray.

Gonna get crucified for this but....

I like the Grey uniforms more than the Orange and White combo.

I think either all white with a little Orange throughout or all Orange looks great.

The half Orange and half white thing has never clicked with me.

The orange white combo is best when it's the white top and orange pants. No debate there, I'm sure everyone agrees.

Home uniforms and road uniforms are orange and white.

Whether they are "basically the same" is going to be a matter of opinion. There are distinct differences, so I'm sure some people will go into a panic mode about everything being different. I look at them as very similar to what we have with some new and unique touches.

As I've said several times, Smokey Gray and Anthracite (a darker gray) are part of our new overall color palette. They will replace black across all sports.
